I'm now sitting here in flannel bottoms and my fluffy robe - there's a summer storm blowing by. Seems to be something wrong with this picture.
I took a 5-HTP & tryptophan pill. I'll probably hit the sack soon and try to sleep.
I don't even want to tell you what I've taken and still can't sleep....
I think il make some mashed potatoes.. Been thinking about them for hours.
And twizzlers were so much easier.
Since getting engaged I have received far far FAR more negative, hurtful, derogatory, demeaning, and insane comments than positive ones.
Instead of things like "I'm so happy for you!", "Congratulations!", "I wish the best for you!"
Most of what I have gotten has included "He actually thought THAT was an acceptable engagement ring?", "Let me get my glasses so I can maybe see it.", "So now that you're engaged are you going to get your weight under control?", "Oh you chose a chubby one this time!", "Aren't you too fat to be a bride?", "You should just get eloped because you're obviously too poor to get married.", "You do realize you only said 'yes' because you can't do better."
Yep, people I called friends said this and much more.
And I'd like to mention too that I am NOT fat. I'm 4'10 and 110 pounds. FUCK people.
You're happy, your partner is happy, that's all that matters!
We are happy. And I love my ring. I am such an un-materialistic person that I personally find large diamond rings completely and totally repulsive. It would not sit well on my hand since it's very small, as am I. I told him what I wanted and he went above and beyond and got me something I absolutely loved. We are extremely happy. We have been discussing wedding plans and will be having the most unique, untraditional, US wedding that anyone has ever seen. No multi-thousand dollar designer stupid ass gown. No waste of money cheesy, tacky, flowers (I hate cut flowers)! No heels so high that no one can walk right without taking steps at 1/2 speed! No multi-thousand dollar cake that doesn't taste even remotely edible. No bride being handed off to the groom like some fucking exchange of property, this bride is taking on the aisle ALONE and proud of it!
I'm very happy about our choices, about us as a couple. I am without a shadow of a sliver of doubt in my mind sure that we are ready for this...that we are the right person for one another. I just wish that people weren't so cruel! It's ridiculous.
the real question is are you happy? do you want to get married? if its a yes to both of those, than that is all that matters. the ring doesnt even matter! it is a symbol it doesnt have to live up to the standards of someone else. Hell, my ring has a lab-created diamond (step up from zirconia, step down from mined diamond) because i didnt want the controversy surrounding a mined diamond. my wedding ring itself? $64 bucks online and i wouldnt trade it for anything!
