then i found a cute wallpaper border in the clearance aisle of walmart. 1.50! so i bought 4 and put it up in our main bathroom yesterday. still have 2 packs left so i guess i am going to do the master bathroom too!

i need to head out to the locks and pulls store and buy some new hinges for the bathroom cabinets and finish painting the bathroom cabinet doors. i think i need a new shower curtain, and maybe bath mats too. i also need to pick up some new pulls for my son's dresser. all his knobs are getting pulled off.

plus my husband's uncle is going to swing by to take a look at our kitchen and possibly dining room to see about laying some sheet vinyl in there and tearing out our nasty, crappy, laminate.

i know that it will be fabulous once it is all said and done, but for now? i am just plain tired.

Des, is he really going to remove the old laminate? You may be in for a big big job. If there aren't many layers of floors already down, just put 1/8" lauan down, screwed every 12" or so - sink the screws a bit. Used floor spackle (I'm sure ther is a real Word for it) to cover screw holes flush with lauan, do the same with where lauan butts together.

Then put your new floor over it...

I sympathize with ppl and home improvement, back porch -soon to be another sitting room, tore up from the floor up. ONE HUGE MESS. Can't stand it.

Des, what kind of floor do you want in dining room.. Not sure what you mean when you say laminate? One sheet flooring? Fake wood? What's the square footage of the area (can you tell I was in the flooring business)

yeah, the faux hardwood laminate pieces that you can just snap together as a floating floor. that is what is in the kitchen right now. i dont hate it, but i dont love it. but if it can be repaired than i guess we should stick with that for awhile.

the dining room is an off-white/grey burber carpet that has been here forever and is totally disgusting. i can deal with it when it has been cleaned, but my son has sprayed tie-dye bottles and knocked over a gallon of black paint all over it. so it is not salvageable at all. i just want to get something close to the kitchen since they are side by side. the room is only about 10X10 or 10X9 or so.

Mizz...I'm soo sorry to hear that sweetie. It's so hard to lose a pet. I have birds and have watched 3 of my beloved parakeets/budgies die. It's heart wrenching. I just cuddled them and told them how much i love them and the joy that they brought to my life.
