@Rising star, your point about how men treat women...I think is part but not all of it.
I HOPE I'm teaching my son better. In my experience many parents are pathetic about teaching their kids how to resolve conflict.
And, patti, it's a vast subject that cannot be accurately described in just a couple of lines.

My experience in US, women have been shamed and guilted here through religion for generations. During industrial revolution, other revolutions happened which allowed women overseas to emancipate very early on.
My exH's mother and father are in their 80s and most of their generation - women- had very little ability to self sustain, nevermind be sexually empowered.
Maybe this is why it seems like men want sex more than women?
Although, I have to agree - when we have kids, we go full force for mothering instead of sexing lol
