Look at dating sites. Does anyone actually believe that the owners of these sites really care if you find the right person or not. How can you shop for a human being on a machine (computer). For a care, not a human. Second even the lingo of today's society. Let's hook up which could and usually does mean a lot of things. But mostly let's have sex.
Not let's go to a movie and a nice supper, it's, my place or yours?
We are not put here for the gratification of others nor are they put here for ours. We are human beings with feelings and needs. We are compassionate or should be towards others. The one thing I don't see being pushed in society at any level is, always remember the person in front of you is a living human being not a sex machine to make sure your desires and wants are met at any cost.
As adults everyone is responsible for their own choices as long as they understand that there is a big responsibility for each choice they make.
So in the end I am a pessimist about the way the human race treats each other. There are pockets of decent people out there thank goodness. But they are hard to find.
The best we can do is those who have children teach them that others are not playthings for their own enjoyment and to treat people with respect, even those who don't deserve it. Do it because it's who you are.
If I stepped on toes here it wasn't intentional. But I also assume we are all adults and can take it as long as respect is at the root of it.
So if nothing else treat the person your with as a person and always consider their feelings every time. But you have to respect yourself before you can respect others. So some ma need to do some soul searching to get healthy.
Take care.
Peace, Tim
I think it feels like good people are hard to find because we choose to judge people rather than understand them.
As far as dating sites, this is something discussed on DS many times. They are simply a tool to use to meet others. Not knowing a persons intent on the other side of the screen is difficult. But you encounter that face to face as well. If you don't do "hook ups" then make hat clear in the beginning. It will weed out the ones you don't want quickly.
I read some of your journals and I'm just going to say
(((( HUGS, HUGS, HUGS, HUGS, HUGS ))))
You don't write that much in your journals, but from what you did I'm not sure if the issues are so much from your parent's religion, as much as from your mother never being there.
My mother was there...physically...emotionally...never. I've felt much the same. I too have never been one that really likes to go out. I too may die "alone", but I'm good with that.
I wish that I could reach through the internet and convince you that you're a Good Person and Okay. IDK how to say it.
Just (((((hugs)))),
