Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
take 150 every 12 hours... keep doing that until you havent had any symptoms for 2 weeks. But you also have to stay very careful with diet.. no chocolate cookies or you will go backward again. Nothing bad at all...plain plain plain... no salmon it is usually not good..
Then after 2 weeks of not a single reflux or gastritis symptom.. then go down to 75 mg 3 times a day for another 2 weeks.. if you get worse again go back up to 150.
Just start here and see how you do.
How that sound?
by the way salmon has not caused me issues that I recall.
How high is your wedge?
Just stay the course and you will get back to volleyball. Just do the hard work now. Try just walking. Gentle exercise is good for the gastritis.
Zero in on what food is bad for you and you will get way better.
So it is harder for me to say for sure what you need to do as it is not as simple as reflux or gastritis.
Blh I was too chicken to use only zantac for the acid suppression....just keep your gut protected from the acid!
But i will wait and see what he says first.
If you have bile reflux it is a more serious issue and it has to be well managed.
Taking a Zantac for today should be fine just be really careful with what you eat. If it is not strong enough you can take another one. no more than 300 though.. Then talk to the doc about weaning off of prilosec.
If you dont have bile reflux this will be simpler.
My wedge is 7 inches.. it is comfortable. Do you have the 12 inch one? Those SUCK!! I used to use those too!
Pillows may work. I would get the 7 inch wedge. That will prevent any back or neck issues. It is comfortable. Pillows can also cause you back and neck problems on your side. It just takes longer.
this issue is a pain in the neck! Isnt it?
