Good morning!
It's going to go from screaming wet to screaming hot here. Ow ow ow. Today is Transition Day on temperatures. The big jump. To be blunt, I am one of the FibroMighty who finds heat/humidity far worse than cold. Not least b/c I don't think I'm genetically programmed to cope with it, LOL. My DNA is way north of this temperature zone!

So, other people don't work weekends, and some do. I married one who does. This means weekends are, for me distinguished primarily by ... uh... well, the doctors are all closed? LOL. What maeks the weekend a weekend for *you*?
***
Conversations you rarely overhear unless yo ulive at my house:
Me: HONEY!
Hubby: WHAT?!
Me: I need the doggie bag.
Hubby: The poop one or the feeding one?
Me: Feed bag! Oh, and call the neigbhor. We have their dachshund again.
Hubby: Which one?
Me: Only one neighbor has dachshunds, babe.
Hubby: No, which one of their dachshunds?
(Dacshund returned home without further incident. Just wanted to come say hi, apparently. ???)***'
OK, I'm back. Took a break. Had to. LilMiss gave us another gift. She was tossing and gamboling and such in the sunbeams, and is waiting for Hubby so she can prance up and present her kill properly. ***
And on that note, I'm apparently off to do what I do every day. Yep. Wrangle the critters. Oh, and that counts Hubby, LOL. Yeesh. This was his face as he came into the house. ...(With respect to the late great Boris Karloff, of course)
BLessed day, all! May you have no Franken-funky fibro-ness!

I'm talking about the Lindsay Clancy mistrial. Why didn't the Judge substitute an alternate for the male juror who refused to follow the law? He singlehandedly caused a mistrial. Apparently, he thought that he knew better than the other 11 jurors. If you can't tell by now, I wanted Lindsay to be acquired if criminal responsibility, as did the other 11 jurors. Having had a psychotic...

Here I am, up at 3am. I took a peek at Facebook , which is so hard for me on this holiday. I see so many friends with pictures of themselves with their fathers, and describing all the wonderful things about them. For me, hey, my dad hit and yelled at me all the time. Happy father’s day! Plus, I get the added fun of PTSD dreams. Sorry to complain. It’s just not a good day for me.
I do have the pleasure of watching my husband be a good father, along with my son and son in law. That is a true blessing, so I’ll focus on that.
Hubby is all packed. We will go to church this morning, then come home for a bit. Then off to the airport.
Hope to see everyone here again today. You are all such good friends.
Ida i understand what you mean about fathers day, partly. My *sperm donor* all he deserve to be called was awful to me and its why they think i have Borderline Personality Disorder. PLUS part of my PTSD a big part of it. But i celebrate for the man that married my mom when i was 6 and fought till i was 10 to stop visitation and at 13 asked to adopt me. (and my brother) and has never treated me like a step kid in my life or abused me in any way. For him i celebrate. I wish you could of had happy memories like that :( Dad wants A&W for fathers day, going to be 97 out so were not cooking out and i told mom since dads the only one who can operate the grill why not take him out and grill out on a non holiday for him.
To me having a dad that chose me and adopted me by choice means so much more to me than just a dad. This day is special for us.
Nervous about going to church, i dont know who will be doing the service due to Pastors parents accident and his mom dying :( Our church is a family though its a smaller church and feels like a family. We always pull together. When my husband died all the kids in children's church made me cards i got about 30 that day. That made me cry so hard and they wanted to bring them to me one by one and each child gave me a hug. Now you see why i been going back to church lately.
ida, I'm glad you were able to celebrate Father's day yesterday at your daughters. I hope your back pain is better.
Blue, I know it gets old having your mom follow you around so much, but I am glad that she has you. She is very lucky! Man I bet that vog alert changes often now. That must get old. I have no idea what Ukrainian Borscht is, but I'm sure it's delicious if you're making it. Hope today is good for you.
Autumn, I'm glad you were able to do Costco with your partner. I hope your pain lowered some and you were able to get some rest and sleep.
milily, It sounds like a lot of us have PTSD when it comes to screaming. I hope you have fun with your brother.
Fantod, I would be all about a chocolate camp, I might even travel for that one. LOL. I hope you can swim when it gets too hot, and enjoy the yummy brownies.
Hi Lilmiss, big hugs and wishing you the best weekend possible.
I stayed pretty busy yesterday so my treat was a yummy cupcake from Gigi's. They are so good. That of course gave me major heartburn and indigestion but the second I drank apple cider vinegar it went away, thank goodness.
I just made my chocolate loaf. I'm going to get ready for church. Afterwards we are going swimming at Grandma's and then going out for Pizza for Father's day. It's really not a lot, but it sure seems like it to me. I got a lot done yesterday so hopefully with us being gone this afternoon and some at dinner, I won't have much to do when I get home besides showers and clothes for tomorrow.
I hope everyone has a good day.
Autumn, CostCo is awful on my pain, it's too big a place to get around. Try using one of those electric buggies next time, it will save you from your pain climbing up to 8, 9, or 10. Enjoy sushi tonight. My husband bought a sushi rolling kit a few months ago so we can roll our own at home. :)
Milily, glad to hear you're at the last stages of that awful virus. I imagine you haven't gotten any good sleep since being that sick.
Ida, I hope your pain has come down today. Sorry about the headache and having to continue with PT. I hope they change your treatment, since it's obviously making you feel worse. I'm with you about Father's Day... no warm fuzzy memories there for me... I try to forget about it and ignore this day. I just take it as a day for those who do / did have a loving relationship with their dad, not for me. I'm skipping church today because of the Father's Day shindig.
Angela, probably one of the assistant pastors or deacons will do the service. I hope you can enjoy yourself despite.
Twins, that chocolate loaf sounds so yummy.... I haven't made any in a while. Ukrainian Borscht is basically a soup with diced / shredded beets, cabbage, potatoes, and carrots. Some people add ground sausage, but I used ground wild boar this time. And other times I have made it vegetarian. I also use homemade veg stock. Either way, it's soooo good. Something about it feels nutritious and whole. Two events in the same day is a lot for *us*. So yeah, I imagine you'll ready to collapse half way through the day. Hugs
The Borscht came out really good. But I should have started an hour earlier. I had everything chopped up and ready to go earlier in the day and had it waiting in little bags. But while I thought the beets were softening (in the rice cooker) while I browned the wild boar in a pan and made the tomato sauce, it turned out for some reason the machine had never started boiling the beets. Found them cold. So I had to eat something else while waiting it finished cooking an hour late. I can't eat late because I'll get a horrible stomach ache.
My husband forgot about our skype appt to go over the budget and I wasn't able to get ahold of him via phone. I hope he'll be available to do it today, I hate pushing things off.
The church is having a big Father's Day shindig where the women are cooking / BBQ and serving the men. Because I didn't have a relationship with my abusive narcissistic father, those kind of events really aren't my thing, so I'll be skipping it... and hope to head out to a nice beach instead. I'll bring my Bible and read a chapter out there.
I hope you all have a blessed day. Fathers day is hard for me too. My birth father was not involved in raising me and my step father was my abuser. I just try to stay busy.
I understand how you feel for sure. Has been hot and humid here for days. I kind of feel monsterious today as well. focusing is a problem it seems. Hope your days get better.
Miki, sounds like you may need an oral steroid at this point. I have had rashes off and on since high school, stumped docs too. I have tried every ointment on the planet -nothing. They used to be really bad with large patches all over my body, but now they are small little pink dots. *shrugs* Sending some fresh aloe your virtual way. I hope they one day figure out what causes all that.
I told my mom as soon as I'm ready I'm heading out to a beach on the west side of the island (1.5 hrs away). She tried talking me into taking her... I told her if she comes then I'll drop her off somewhere that's NOT my beach, and pick her up on the way home. Told her I have spent every day this past week with her: when I leave for errands she comes too, when I stay home she is home with me too (even has to sit next to me and watch my movies, ugh). To the pool? She came too!
Her response: said she doen't want to be left somewhere by herself so she has changed her mind in coming along. GOOD. Told her I need a BREAK from her! I asked her if she had reapplied to the senior transportation services (it was expired), she said she has. I told her I was wondering because she's been completely depending on me for rides everywhere since coming back from her trip a month ago. She said they are short of drivers. I understand that, but I can't be your chauffeur 24/7 and you must try and schedule what you can with them.
OK, I'm going to water the garden and pack my beach bag :). I wish I could take all of you with me.
