Hey, all, a quick drive-by today as I boil down onions, herbs, etc., for more vile concoctions. The strep is losing ground, but I think it's because it knows in 10 days I'll have real insurance. I can't shake the feelign my being among the great unlucky affected whether or not I got antibiotics. Which are cheap, but the walk-in clinic is regulated by some pretty bizarre funding rules, and that probably influences the care they give. More I think about it, more I wonder, y'know?
Anyway, yes, thes econcoctions are *horrible*, but my voice is back, my throat only hurts a little, and my ears stopped ringing and aching, and my fever stayed gone for 24 straight hours. I take that as hope.
Sorry I can't do more, I'm just going back to bed. The fibro decided to live in my right shoulder to the point I couldn't sleep, and I'm staggering. After I choke down my dose. Salute to my late grandma, this seems to be working, but when I get insured? First stop, doctor! Already have an appointment with an actual MD for first friday in April. :-)
Warm kitten purrs and puppy cuddles to all

Welcome to the Perseid meteor showers, the "biggies" usually every year. (The Leonids beat 'em one year IMHO).AND today much of the northern hemisphere will see 5 to 99% solar eclipse. How cool is that? Your best bet is to be in the UK or norhtern Spain, where totality is excellent before sundown. Me, I'll get a super duper tiny itty bitty slice of it, so little that it won't be noticeable. New...

Miki, I hope you enjoy spinning class and find something to temporarily replace running for you. I have never been a runner, but my friends who are say that the emotional struggle is very real when they cannot do it. I hope your day goes quickly and that you find some restful sleep.
I slept last night. We got home around 9 and I was exhausted. The boys are fairly ready to head south. I am looking for a vehicle for our daughter. She "really" cannot have one on campus until she is a Jr., but she has underlying medical issues that she really needs one, so I guess she could get a waiver. We will see. I am still looking. My feet are nice and swollen today - well everything is. I couldn't get my wedding band on this morning. Not sure what the culprit is. It is currently freezing rain, but supposed to be 50 later. I am going to my great nieces play dress rehersal tonight since I won't be able to see the real thing this weekend.
I hope everyone has a good day. Hugs to all of you.
Leo, you are to be commended for really taking control of your illness. If I felt that bad, I'd be complaining and moaning. I'm sorry you're still suffering. Praying it passes quickly.. Do rest.
Miki, like BBmom, I'm not a runner. I do admire those who do, especially with fibro. I hope you find the right exercise that makes you feel good.
BBmom, enjoy the dress rehearsal. I hope the school gives a waiver. One less concern for you.
Yesterday was a very long, exhausting day. However, I did receive great reviews for my seminar. Always feels good to get those. But today, my legs are jelly. I knew that would happen because my hips were very tight from standing so long yesterday.
So, errands today and rest.
Happy spring day to you.
miki, I'm with you on the emotional issues facing not running. For me it's working out, I can't run anymore due to the nerve pain in my feet. My day is not good or complete w/o some bodily care in the morning. Sorry you feel like crap, I hope you start feeling better.
bbmom, I'm glad you got some sleep last night. Isn't it great when that happens. It sounds like you have inflammation in your body but I know there are other reasons for swelling, is there a way for you to put your feet up today? I hope work goes by fast, and you have reduced swelling and pain.
TGIF. I started my new meds yesterday, I didn't notice anything, but maybe a little nausea last night, hoping I'm on the road to recovery, HA! Tonight is the new show Repunzel, we look forward to watching it! It looks like we might get some rain, if not we may take the puppies on a short walk first. The girls love it. Addison's dog walks with her so good and looks up at her all the time, I think she would be a good show dog. I've never seen anything like it before. It makes all the struggles and extra work with more dogs worth it. My pain is high but that's nothing new. I'm just ready for the weekend.
ida, good luck with the move today. I hope everything goes good and you can relax and take your time with putting things away. You will need to be very gentle on your body after this.
Miki I hope you enjoy spin class tomorrow. It is always hard when we are not able to do the things that give us a feeling of self esteem. Hang in there and soon you will be running again. Hugs.
BBmom I am glad to see you slept last night. I hope you enjoy the dress rehearsal today.
Bobbii I am glad your seminar went so well for you. Take time today for self care and give those legs and hips a break.
Twin sorry to hear your pain level is still so high. Gentle hugs. I hope you enjoy time with your girls and maybe a walk. It sounds like you may in fact have a show dog.
I didn't sleep again last night. Every time I rolled over the clock was blaring at me that there was not going to be sleep and it was going to be a very long night. It is cool and rainy again today and looks like that is going to be the pattern for the next week! I am starting to hate rain. My pain level is actually pretty good today a 7. I think I might spend some time sewing and do some ironing today. I quilt when my hands cooperate. It has been awhile. I will check back in later.
I did not bound out of bed like a gazelle this morning. I iced my knee all of last night, went to bed and it started acting up. And, we had a visitor in the attic again last night. My partner gets hyper vigilant and continually half sits up in bed whenever there is a new noise. That, in turn, keeps me up. I keep offering him earplugs. Now, I am going to insist. Needless to say, I had a poor sleep again last night.
We are going to put new insulation/higher R factor in parts of the attic and add plywood on top of that. That is after we finally sort out where the last hold out is getting in for nocturnal visits. My partner was feverishly working out the measurements and costs last night. It is going to be a big job. We need 32 sheets of plywood which does not cover the entire attic. Just a portion of the front of the house. He wants to get this done in the next six weeks before it gets too warm up there. I am not really up for this right now. He is going to complain like crazy and make a big mess everywhere. I don't need the additional stress but there is no stopping him once he gets ahold of an idea. I don't disagree that it needs to be done. Just not right now....
I have an appointment today and then a break. I am going to try and go to St. Andrews fish fry tonight. Someone will have to hold my face out of my plate by then.
All Hail to the Queen of Wisconsin who is moving today! I look forward to being a member of your pampered court! Ida - I hope that everything goes very smoothly today. Take your time putting stuff away and get some rest!
Miki- I commend you for trying a spin class. I've seen some of that activity on TV and it kills me to just watch it. I hope that you enjoy it and that it helps your anxiety. Happy Friday!
BBMom - I am sorry that everything is swollen today! I need foot surgery (oh, why the h*ll not); the balls of my feet swell because the mechanical function of my feet is affected by bunions. I hate it. I hope that you can find a decent car for your daughter. Enjoy the dress rehearsal tonight and then come home and get some sleep! Hugs!
Hi Bobbii - I'm glad to hear that your seminar went well and that you got good reviews. I hope that you can just rest those hips today. Have a good one!
TwinMom - The puppies sound so cute! Trying to get my cats to do anything is like keeping frogs in a wheelbarrow. They generally listen pretty well to me because I am the sheriff of the house. My partner, not so much lol. I really hope that your new meds help. Have fun watching Rapunzel and try to get some rest this weekend.
Off to hobble around and try and get a couple of chores done before my appointment. Everyone who follows have a decent day!
Fantod, Thanks, it really is cute. I hate that your attic dilemma never ends. I can't believe there was another one last night. I read your last post yesterday. I think it's from the FM too, but you will get there. Hang in there and recognize that you really have done an awesome job with everything they have told you to do and then some.
Autumn, thanks it should be a good weekend. I hate nighttime. I hope you get better sleep tonight. Enjoy your sewing, I hope your hands cooperate.
My day is okay. All 4 kids are sick, so i had to call in to work. Doctor bound later today... right now we are watching the new Ice Age movie with a box of tissues handy...
Not a ton of sleep last night, maybe 6 hours, bc the baby was coughing pretty bad. :( But my fm is staying under control for the time being. But, i learned last night that my Sunday school teacher from my childhood died on Wednesday. This is after one of my prechers (from age 13-16) and the wife of another one of my preachers (age 2-13) passed away this week, as well. :(
Good luck and good thoughts to everyone today!
Leo, so happy your strep is stepping away from you. Hope your concoctions make it just go poof this weekend. I hate loosing my voice....but my hubster, he likes it. LOL.
Miki, I hope you find an exercise that works for you and you can tolerate. I have one, and my machine got packed up into the garage...I've been thinking of breaking it out again. Treadmils kill my hips (due to the inclines) so if I hop on one, it's gotta be as level as the floor.
BBMom, I totally don't get the whole can only have a car on campus if your a jr thing. I hope your daughter can get a waiver. And I hope you enjoy that rehersal too. Sounds like fun.
Twins, your pups sound adorable. Tank is like walking a Clydesdale....except I think Clydesdales have much more grace than Tank, LOL. He likes to step on your feet because much like a horse, he leans into you when he walks. But for the most part, he stays glued to your side. Which I like...Lexi (our former lab) would run like the dickens if given the chance to. I often though about putting her into a jumping competition because she could clear our sliding glass door from a stand still. She also had a tongue that just wouldn't stop...Gosh she was a goof.
Enjoy that walk...and maybe see about getting you pups into some agility classes, it would be good for the girls to help teach the pups.
Angela, Sorry to hear that your psych doc had to cancel. But I hope the other appointment goes well...*after* the freezing rain stops. (See, how I put that....I'm rewriting the weather to make it happen). (Let me know if it works).
Autumn, I truly hate having a clock in the bedroom. Has to be digital because like the princess and the pea, I can hear any tick tock sound from anywhere in the room and it drives me CRAZY! I used to have such great sympathy for Captain Hook being chased around by a big gator and a clock.
Hope your sewing projects go well.
Fantod, I've been glued to our critter cam. I'm watching that more than seeing when April the giraffe will give birth. And I know you're cringing over the attic maintence work, but I'm envious. I'd love nothing more than to rip out the old and send up the new. But other work demands the extra funds for house repairs. I have a toilet I want to blow up and I secretly hope my washing machine dies. Still 10yrs later and it's still kicking.
Well folks, I'm off to ignore some phone calls...kids reeval appointments have my mind in the whirlies today...so I'm going to do something more fun...BAKE! but I'm seriously running out of space in the freezer. My heart still goes pitter pat as I walk past the kitchen. I'm such a dork!
Happy Friday's to all.
Special hellos to Ida (moving) and Kel (becoming a millionaire out in Vegas).
Blue.,,,you too hun, we seem to pass each other by. Hope your GI issues get resolved and you get into that bible college. Wow, I would love that. I love learning in depth with God's word.
Chelsea, LOL, my Polish family has a cure even more alcoholic. I can't have *any* alcohol at all (my meds for epilepsy). My grandma used brandy, lemon, and horse radish. Which frankly just scared us into feeling better. Hugs on the losses of the loss of people from your chlidhood. Sucks.
All hail ALL Fibro Mighty Ones! I'd answer individually but.... I just forgot what I was saying.
OH, how do I choke it down?
I've no idea. I think b/c it's that or worse, and I know what I'm using, why, and how. And I happen to *love* the foll0w-up, which is ginger-lemon or mint tea, which also have good properties and taste nicer. Rosehips are sweet, tons of vitamin C. Y'know. It's this or one of Hubby's effed up "juices", which are frankly gross (kale and blueberries?! Together? YUCK. It's gray!)
Gotta figure out how to help integrate Hubby's new work mandate into our lives. As in, make sure we have lives.
Leo, in case you're curious, amazon has an OTC antibiotic you can order and give a try... it's an all natural herbal supplement, but it's something till you see your doc. I'm glad your nasty concoctions seem to be helping lol. I feel awful that the walk-in clinic wasn't able to help you :(.
Miki, sucks when you can feel the rain comin, yeah? I'm sorry you're still not sleeping and your dreams are all out of whack. have you ever tried doing imagery? Perhaps practicing some of that before bed every night might help the sleep and weird dreams.
Bbmom, hope your daughter can get that waiver. The rules sound weird. That swelling sounds scary. Has that happened before? Do you know if it's water retention or real swelling?
Bobbii, awesome job on the seminars. Good luck with the errands and hope you're resting soon.
The S.S. appt was long yesterday... and this thing with my father's death isn't over yet. It will take them a month to process his death certificate.... and then once they send a letter out, my siblings and I have to fill out a form and bring our birth certificates in (showing we are survivors).
I feel like I've taken a beating this week physically, emotionally, and mentally from all I've had to do. I have a voc rehab appt today that I forgot about that's been rescheduled 2x already, but I just don't know if I can take anymore and am thinking of rescheduling... again. My husband starts spring break this week. Wouldn't it be great if we could send mom away somewhere and get the house to ourselves? I wish we had the funds to do that.
Back in a bit.
Chelsea, I love your cold remedy. I am going to write that one down. LOL. You poor thing to have all 4 kids sick. I hate it when my twins get sick together, I can't imagine all 4. I hope they get better soon, and you get more sleep tonight. I'm praying your pain stays under control so you can take care of those babies. Hugs
wonder, tank sounds adorable, lol. My yorkie Pixie has a tongue that doesn't stop. I do want to see about classes for the pups. I'm glad you reminded me. I hope you have fun baking today and this weekend in your new oven. I get so excited over things like that too. I'm so glad you have something right now that is making you so happy! Enjoy trying that pig this weekend too.
blue, you have been going nonstop so it makes sense with how you feel. I hope you get some rest this weekend and things improve for you mentally and physically. I find it so often that I am rarely just physically overwhelmed, it seems to be a package deal these days with all of them involved.
