Hey everyone, I'm Crumbs... I thought it might be a good idea to join a support group. Mostly because my friends and family do not understand and I have hit a low point. My official journey has just begun but I have been seeing doctors for ten years who have told me they can't find anything wrong. I was not taken seriously until I moved and saw an allergist for hives. I would get them randomly and with no trigger I could pinpoint.
From there he and my pcp pcp worked together and found I have fibromyalgia and Hashimotos which affects my thyroid. This is ontop of the 20 years I have had an anxiety diagnosis basically I have been in the middle of both flaring up and I am an absolute anxious wreck most days. I would say I live at an 8 on a scale of 10. While having the validation I am. Lot crazy is great I still can't seem to get to a point where I am able to sleep and feel rested and move through my day without pain. There is constant med evaluation happening now and it's quite tiresome.
Professionally I am in home family therapist With intensive models. I currently am working in pre admissions which is basically a triage like position. I meet the family's to do a review and then pinpoint which family's needs are the most acute. Which is often a challenge given the population. I work with the at risk populations and do a lot a driving. I used to carry a caseload but this potion had helped improve my health. It's amazing what normalized hours can do for you.
I have three fur babies 2 cats and a dog. My tortie baby is in charge of the other two. My ticked tabby is a daredevil and more like a Labrador than a cat. And my dog is a husky/Aussie mix and also has autoimmune issues as well.
I am am really looking forward to contributing and being a part of this community!

Welcome to the group. It never ceases to amaze me how fibro can go undiagnosed for so long in today's world of modern medicine. But alas, so many of us go years w/out help and are left figuring this thing out on our own.
I never knew in home sessions were available via therapists. Sounds interesting to me. The most I knew about was in home behavioral therapy for kiddos with autism (we have two kiddos with ASD) and we had ABA therapists in the home before. We're now down to just a tutor. But we eliminated a lot of the stress for them via homeschooling vs sending them to public school.
And we have 2 cats and a dog. (had 3 cats up until recently). 1 ragdoll -who thinks she is a dog, 1 siamese-tabby mix -who thinks she is Nana from PeterPan, and a great dane with a scooby doo complex. And they keep me going.
