I am thinking I am hungry, but just looked at pics of some food that were online. The meat wasn't appetizing, but the meat on bread was. This is telling me I am not actually hungry, just craving carbs, or carbs mixed with other food. I will stay strong!

Usually I get a daily influx of emails on health topics. An article from Dr. Mercola really stood out recently though because it mentioned that fat cells have their own mitochondria. Not only was this the first I'd heard of this, he also mentioned that fat serves a purpose in our metabolism. Another new factoid for me. The bottom line for me was to appreciate that even our fat cells play a...

I just do not feel well and I really think that it's because I cried yesterday on my way to work about my Aunt who is in the hospital. I don't think that we will have her much longer. She is very frail. Now she needs help eating. So, this is the third time in a year that I felt this way after crying. I think crying releases toxins into my body. I also worked up a sweat at the gym...

I relate strongly with craving carbs. I have a long history of EDs but am a normal weight unless I'm overeating. My trigger foods are sugar, bread and flour. My food-plan for recovery and normalising my weight avoids these foods. When I binge/overeat its always on bread - my comfort food. (I don't know but I may be an anomaly on this site, because not everyone will have an ED).
I'm on day 13 of my eating sane food-plan and doing okay with it. Last night however I was craving the carbs of sugar and bread. Didn't eat over it but felt desolate inside because these are comforting for me. Its a false comfort though because they cause me more pain than they are worth. Eating sanely, the weight is slowly coming off.
Managed not to overeat. Drank some water, sat with the distressing feelings that were coming up (shame/self-hatred triggered earlier that afternoon) and also had a hot drink.
Today, choosing to not overeat and take it one meal at a time....
Kim :)
You are doing good to resist the cravings. It is tough, but you have great will power and your progress will show. Stay strong.....
@kp, there's no shame in being human, but I get it. I have those feelings sometimes, too.
are you eating proteins awarely? My nutrition change includes a lot of proteins (1 or 1,5 gram per kg weight which is right now 78 kg) over the day. The great effect for me is: almost no munchies at all and a constant feeling of being sated while an intrinsic need to move more. Comes from the extra energy.
I can watch my fat cells melt away literally and I am so happy about it.

I also cut back the carbs and read that it's about eating nutrient dense foods so that you don't get quite as hungry. Your body will feel satisfied when you're getting those nutrients.
Good luck on this. It's made a world of difference for me!!
I believe that body doesn't naturally lose fat cells but it loses fat within ea cell.
carb's are my battle. Last night I ate 2 chocolate chip cookies. I spat the 2nd one out when I realized what I had done and was in process of doing.
Certain people still insist on keeping my kitchen filled with grease salt white flour reg sugar.
my weakness is bread n crackers n pasta.
you will reach your mini goals and final weight goal.
For myself, I had to set week by week mini goals.
