Wot is it with christians these days? I bin comin across ppl lately that hav bin hurt, trampled on & givn the general run around by christians............like geeze, ya think ur forgiven? ya think there's no repercussions for ur actions? The Bible says if u come 2 the alter & there u rememba that someone has something against u, leave ur gift there & reconcile with them, then return & offer ur gift. ya kno why? coz God wont bless a mess, & if ur relationships with ppl are outa order, ur only thrown ya munny away. & no....Im not sayn dont offa ya gift, Im sayn, get yaself rite with ppl 1st, then God will bless ya! Rememba, God says "How can u say u love me, when u hate ur brother?"
Think about it, repent & put it rite!
I rememba seein a bumper sticker once that said "Christians arent perfect, just forgiven." wot a cop out! not so bad if ya a newborn, but if ya bin in da Lord 4 wile.....shame on u, u drag the name of The Lord thru the mud, & discredit alla us.

Just thought I would join this group now that I am a widower. My wife passed away May 28th. She was "The Wind Beneath My Wings". When I met her, I was a drunken, dope smoking, fighting, hell raising biker. She told me if I could get rid of the inner storm within me, that I could be a blessing to people. God placed her in my path to stop me. I have been drug and alcohol free now for 53...

My husband and I got our foster license last month, after 3 years of hard work (we had to start over multiple times due to family dramas and Mom's open heart surgery). We spent a year preparing the whole house, guest rooms, and children's bathroom for older kids of 7 yr old and up. Then we got a call that we have been approved to receive twin newborn premies. What, what?!! Babies!? Premies?!...

It is these who do this that give true Christians a bad name. As a believer, there will be a payback for this man. You reap what you sow.
That is not for me to decide. If this man is a Christian, what he has done is not right. The Bible says that God Chastises those whom He loveth. So, by being dishonest with the woman, he is placing himself in the way of God's chastisement.
It's like when we were kids, if we went against my father's rules and his word, then punishment was to follow. Man thinks he can get by with things but, he doesn't. God is just and this man will answer to Him.
Man's ways are not God's ways. I don't understand what His ways are all the time but, I agree with Sidecar. There will be a payday, someday.
I am glad somebody agrees with me. Pepperman, that's a good idea if they accept verbal agreements as a binding contract. Some places do and some don't. I don't know what her state laws are but, it is certainly worth a try. Maybe, it will teach this guy a lesson due to the embarassment of being drug into court.
Based on "the People's Court" (take this for what it is only!!!) the thing the laws looks for is do you both agree that the money for his insurance came from you, and could it be considered to be a gift.
If you were living as man and wife, then it could even be considered a joint bill.
But back to the gift thing, he would have to establish that such a gift from you to him was appropriate based on your relationship. For example, if you routinely spent $1,200 on gifts for each other he may have a case. But if your gifts to each other were more in the $20 price range, then he should have NO case!
Hope you are able to get it back from him!
Anywho, I don't know where your from, but it might be a good idea to check it out, and find out for sure. What have you got to lose? If you can't do anything, at least you tried....
We all f up, regardless of religion. We all need to forgive and love each other and do better next time. Anger hurts the person bearing it as well as the person receiving it. I'm not religious, but the Bible does say that we aren't to judge.
If somebody owes you money, get it back, but don't waste time and energy on negative emotion if you can help it.
How do you live what you believe?
I think the first thing is, people do not understand the basic message of the Bible. People sin. Period. I have read the Bible 30 times in 30 years in English, twice in French and a little in Greek and Spanish.
From start to finish, it is about a perfect, loving and just God, who deals with people who screw up. From Adam and Noah to Abraham, and the Israelites, and David and through to the disciples, who slept when Jesus asked them to pray the night before he was crucified, and Peter who denied Christ, and all the people in the different cities the epistles were written to, who got seduced by false teachers.
So what does that say to you about Christians living today? Hey, we are not perfect! But the difference between us and say, the Old Testament or New Testament people, is that we have a written Bible, available freely in many translations. That is a bit different than "versions" Because the Bible was written in Hebrew and Greek, we try and take the words they wrote and make them apply to today, and to our context.
It really doesn't affect the message though. Christ was God, he became man, and he died on the cross to take the punishment for our sins. And he proved it by rising from the dead.
Now you can take that or leave it. I am totally convinced it is true, but there have been times in my life when that truth has been stale. There have been times when I followed my flesh, disobeyed God.
But lately, God has stirred in my heart the part of the gospel that we don't hear preached, and there has been so little teaching about.
Once we are saved, then God starts to work on us. Yes, salvation is only the beginning. Romans 5:1 says we are justified by faith. That means we are made righteous in a legal sense through Jesus. But then by Romans 12:2, Paul is saying that we need to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, to prove God's perfect, acceptable and good will.
And do you know when the Bible says we will be perfect? When we see Christ face to face. Because we only know in part, and see through a glass darkly. 1 Cor. 13:12. 1 John 3:2, says we shall be like him on that day, for we shall see him as is.
So when people say, "they don't act like Christians" or "they are hypocrites", maybe they are leaving the part out that they are on a journey, with Christ as their guide. The Holy Spirit is changing them.
People who know me think I have a lot of faults - like I used to be very angry until about a year ago. Now a Christian shouldn't be angry. It says right in Gal. 5;19-21. It is the same as sexual immorality, drunkenness and witchcraft. But I was angry. It took 29 years for God to change me. I have so much peace now.
Now God is moving onto different things in my life. But so many people remain baby Christians, because they don't do the basics. They don't read the Word of God, they don't pray, they don't obey. God calls this a hardened heart.
I am not the judge, but I think there are many people out there with a worn out "get out of hell free" card in their back pocket. Come judgment day, I believe Jesus is going to tell them, their card was expired because they failed to renew it on a daily basis.
If you knew me back in my alcoholic days, you might think I was doing well. I'm hoping in a few years, God will do some more major overhauls and breaking of my soul, and change me a bit more into his image. That is the Christian hope. Not condemnation.
Romans 8:1 For there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
Not sure what this post is about, just that my hope is in Jesus, not in this world, and not in what people say about me, or God.
I am a Pagan. I live my beliefs by trying to be an honest person who tries very hard not to unnecessarily harm any person or thing around me. Some days I am more successful at this than others, but who isn't?
I also leave other people to their own beliefs, whatever they may be.
