What helps you get out of a depressed funk when you are stuck in one?? I just tend to ride the storm and things eventually change, but it would be nice if I had more tools to get out of a funk quicker.

So mad at Xfinity! They're trying to charge me $115 per month for the same service I had been paying $50 the last four years. I took the equipment to UPS for shipping and cancelled my subscription today! Next door was a cookie shop called Crumbl. I had heard of it before but never went in until today. I don't need one more sugar fix, but maybe it will help with my sad) grieving heart....$15...

I know this is stupid, but after not being able to find a job after graduation for almost two years, I ended up just taking an online teaching job because I couldn't find anything in my field. I was trying to get out of teaching and I feel so devastated. I felt this crushing feeling when I signed the paperwork and when I was in the meetings. If I weren't such a lazy bum, I'd love to do something productive to get my mind on something other than the crap that's bringing me down.
If it's just a feeling of starting to make a rut to get trapped in, and not a really bad day. I take a little time out and do something like make a To Do List of chores and such I've gotten behind on (and then start to at least cross off one thing) That way at the end of the day I have proof for myself that I've actually done something productive as well as started a plan for the next day.
If it's a really bad day I find ways to just let it all go for a bit. Meditation, some exercise, going for a walk. I found out years ago that doing something physical that I don't have to think about helps. That dumbbell was 10 pounds yesterday, same today and well, focusing on that instead of the thoughts dragging me down helps things slide back into place because I'm not fighting my mood (or kicking myself). I guess you could say it lets me catch my breath.
Story. And my 17 year old's sense of humor helps too.
And not to sound vulgar or anything, but I masturbate and it helps as well.
I also art journal or just do charchoal drawing, which is my favorite. I play with my dog. I read a bood I'm really into.
Also I go to tapping.com and do the overcoming depression video. It looks weird at first but I can honestly say it works.
