Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

As many of you know, Josh is my 17 year old son who battled cancer for over six months. The good news is that he is now cancer free and is enjoying life again. This last week he had his port removed so he has to take it easy right now. But the funny thing is that after the surgery he was laughing because he thought he had fallen asleep in the check out line of a grocery store and that that was why he was hearing a lot of beeping. Also his arms and legs felt really light which also made him laugh.
Last weekend he was able to have his little wish from the Make a Wish foundation which grants kids with cancer their wishes such as vacations, clothes, pets, or whatever they want. He wanted to stay in a cabin like we did last fall so we rented a beautiful cabin down in Brown County in Southern Indiana and enjoyed a hot tub, shopping in a touristy small town nearby and a two mile hike around the lake at the State Park. He also took a bunch of pictures during our hike which was something new for him.
His hair is growing back and now we are back to focusing on getting him with friends and dealing with school which he starts home schooling on Monday.
One of my friends here at DS calls him Super Josh which I just love. He's been through a lot and is still having to struggle due to his Aspergers and ADHD but in my eyes he is just an amazing kid with so much strength. We had so much support while he was going through his cancer that I felt really hopeful that he was going to overcome it and he did!
And thanks too to all of you here who offered words of encouragement during a difficult time.
Love to you all,
Heidi

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
