Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

The stupid saga continues with work. I finally get called into the main office for this supposed "incident report." I substitute teach at a variety of schools and work for an agency.
Thinking something really awful has happned or that there was some serious accusation, I am wondering what all this is about.
She takes out her list and I nearly fell out of my seat when the first thing came out of her mouth. There were two people there and bascially over several jobs that I have done there over a year or so, the secretary was just repeating almost everything we ever talked about and reporting EVERYTHING.
She states: "We received a complaint that you used the bathroom three times in one day. Do you have medical issues, maam? Why did you go to the bathroom three times?" (and no one came to cover me for the restroom when I did call, I had to have someone else cover the class-this is over a full shift)
Item two: "You were supposed to find a pink folder and did not find a pink folder" (It was locked in a closet, so no, there was no pink folder out, someone had to open it)
Three: "One day you locked yourself out of your classroom after school." Yes, this is true...
Four: "You had problems with your computer..." (what do you mean I ask) She states: "you told the office that your password we set for you wouldn't let you in to the computer." I did tell them this-the password wouldn't let me in-so no I could not get into the computer or file a help desk ticket....because I could never get into the computer in the first place.
(mind you some of these things are like three months ago-the secretary was keeping this big list and forwarding all of this to the highest person on the food chain.
"Someone stood on a table." (really, who?)
I could not believe she spent all this time compiling all this s***. I was so mad I thought it was complete garbage. Was called into the office before work at 7:15 in the morning, just like WTF is this...

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...

This kind of being called in and dressed down, demeaned, made to feel stupid and EXPLAIN oneself over BS is very hard on our emotional wellness.
Please take some time to do positive self-talk because this kind of nonsense has crushed me emotionally in the past. Had an attorney boss do this to me, I didn't know what he was talking about and said that. Later on after work, I realized he was trying to get me to quit because the firm was not making money and they didn't want to pay my salary. Went in the next day to give notice and that attorney would not meet my eyes nor allow me to have five minutes of his time. I had an excuse all made up, I was moving in a few months and realized I needed all that time ahead to get ready, sell the house, just BS. I gave two weeks notice ask was out of there. He was the second attorney to call me down on something that didn't happen. I carried these emotional scars for a lot of years so I am saying please realize you matter, you have value, and this job is just "toxic."
Speaking of attorneys, there are few good employment lawyers that have social media accounts, and they post and educate about things like this.
Believe it or not, I almost singlehandedly won a case myself, representing myself remotely, during the pandemic. I kept documents and submit my arguments from home to an adjudicator from DES. Even though I quit under duress, I was able to get 10k in unemployment because DES thought it was egregious and illegal the way I was being treated. The company got a citation slapped on them and I got money! I'm not in the mood to do that again. Documentation is really important, if you keep any.
