I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...
Now they have us sending resume's over the Internet...it makes it even harder to stand out.
When my son was struggling to find a job my b/f said to me...he doesn't care if it says...to use Internet that he would find addresses of the places and GO there and try really hard to either talk to someone on the spot or make an apt. to speak with someone.
I have to say I agree with him...and my son did that...and he has a job in a really good place. Some places will be pissed that you showed up...but ya never know what you will literally walk into if you give it a shot.
Along with continuing to send out your resumes and don't give up....its just they get so many that they weed out quickly.
Can you make your resume stand out? I did that once..I went on line and looked up "non traditional resume's". I obtained an interview pretty quickly with a resume that did not look like a TYPICAL resume.
I think they were curious to see who had the gall to send such a resume. It looked more like a poster....I put things in colorful boxes. I wish I had it on this computer I would copy and paste it...but do some on line research.
As for the colorful resumes, I once attempted that several years ago. However, as I was literally buying the paper, I ran into two HR people in line. While talking, I mentioned what I was going to do and they strongly discouraged me from it as many of them were tired of seeing tricks to get their attention over and over.
Unfortunately, I have none of those.
I'm at the point where I want a job where I go in, do what i have to do, leave and get paid with the knowledge I can laid off at any moment.
He got shut down a LOT.
But he persisted and he finally found acceptance from a company.
His business? He was the manager for 4 musicians from Liverpool London.
