Quick update guys. I did see her in my drive way. She seemed really tired and scared, and thought about coming up to me, then ran at the last second. This was around 10:30-10:45. I made sure there was yummy food in the trap, and after following her for a while, went back inside. I hear her jingling I think, sometimes, but I can't be sure. We have some really nasty feral cats in the area, I really hope she stays close and isn't driven off by them. What do you guys think of leaving the back or porch door open? do you think if she comes back inside she will stay inside?

Hmm, leaving the back door open may attact the feral cats. If she's around the house she'll hopefully stay there then in the morning you can open the back door while your awake to entice her to come in. I'm so sorry about your situation. As a cat lover/owner myself I know how heart breaking it can be to lose them and worry. But I agree with everyone who said that she will be able to survive because she does have cat instincts. Praying for you and your kitty's safe return. ((hugs))

I think it's just a short while with her going inside ESPECIALLY with you calmly calling her into come inside. She is just spooked and confused being outdoors with tons of other noises now louder to her!
I'm a bit spooked to leave a door just open for the night WITHOUT SOMEONE THERE to keep other pest animals out!

I'd say to leave a porch light on, perhaps even a radio with "your station" on at a low volume. (And the t-shirt that has your sent on it!)

Cat instincts? Right now that cats instinct is to run while the feral cats instincts in the neighborhood is to protect their territory and they can become quite vicious if that happens. Her cat has no instinct to survive at this point just run. I have a 5 year old Siamese raised indoors only and he ever got out he'd be dead in a hot second. I'm not sure what kind of trap you have but if it's a caged trap you take the risk of trapping a feral because they want to eat. Best thing to do is continue even late at night calling for it and if no luck try again in the morning. If you spot it make sure you have a handy bowl of it's favorite food and whatever you do DON'T start walking up to it let the cat come to you. You have to earn a cats trust and that's not easy. Worst case go around the neighborhood posting or telling people if you see my cat call me right away. If it's chipped hopefully someone will take it to the shelter so you'd best continue to check with the local shelter all the time to see if anyone dropped it off. Be persistent but if you don't see your cat after a week or so chances are you won't ever see your cat again. Don't wait because taking action now is the most crucial.

Welp, so far nothing. I was out all night. My back, legs, and stomach kill from jumping fences. My neighbors have all been really helpful which is nice. They all know what she looks like so they'll be keeping an eye out. I'm sure she's terrified because it poured last night. I'm just hoping she found a porch to go under or something. This isn't helping with the anxiety I've been struggling with at all. I had probably about 4 or 5 panic attacks yesterday, the last one was really long. I feel so helpless.

I'm so sorry she still hasn't turned up. That is really stressful. It sounds like you've been doing all you can and then some. I'd say to try and get some rest today if you can. Everyone is keeping an eye out, and I'd say that chance are that she is hiding under someone's porch or bushes some where. It's important for you to take care of yourself too and wearing yourself out to where your panic attacks are worse than usual won't help. Try to get some sleep and then get back to it. My wife came up with a trick when she needed to get the cat for something. Rather than run after the cat, which would cause the cat to run away, she bent down on the ground and started fussing with something. Cats are very curious, and it did not take long for our cat to come up and try to see what my wife was doing.

Then it was easy for my wife to just pick up the cat!

I think she may have gotten into a havaheart trap without triggering it. I put cheese, hotdog bites, tuna, and kibble and greenie treats in the trap on a saucer last night. Sheena is very picky, prefers kibble over most foods and greenies are the only cat treats she will eat. This am the trap hasn't been triggered, but the kibble and treats are gone. The rest of the food is there. I'm wondering if she ate her kibble and her treats and left the rest? I don't think a loose cat or wild animal would leave food....

It sounds like that is what happened. I think any other animal that would've been there would've eaten all the food. That's a really good sign that she's been around, and just outsmarted the trap :) I'd put more treats out and have faith she'll come home safe. She's most likely sticking around somewhere close, cats are very good at hiding when they want to.

Took some time off, then postered the area some more after the rain last night tore some of them down. I added for people to please check their garages and sheds for her. I spoke to one women down the street who said she may have seen her last night sitting in her driveway, but she ran away. I got back from walking around to see the cat trap had been sprung but it was the neighbors cat. Worst feeling ever, being super hopeful then having it crushed. I just want her home and safe.

I totally agree with animal46. I work at a shelter and he's right on what he's saying.

Sounds like he knows a bit about cats.

I really don't know how people deal with having lost their pets. I've never had any of my pets go missing before. My pets are my anchor and with out her here I'm coming undone. I've barely slept or eaten, I haven't showered since monday....I'm lapsing into self harm. The company she is chipped with told me it can take 10-14 days for a really skittish indoor cat to get hungry enough come out of hiding...I'm hoping that is he case. I've seen no sign of her sense we saw her late monday night. I can't do this.

Well that is encouraging news, wish it was shorter, but it sounds like they know what they are talking about so I'd let that keep my spirits up.

I say keep it up with the old t shirt and some of her favorite food in that humane trap.

There is always hope don't give up this happened to my neighbor she put up flyers & went door to door & a week later she was found not on our street but one street up from me in some ones house she was just fine - Good Luck.
