I stand by what I said - Talk to your daughter .. Tell her she doenst need a green room to talk to you about anything.. Tell her she can talk to anytime day or night

Scout how do you know what she speaks to her daughter about? You can plan for life all you like, and the traumas that may occur. When they happen though........that's a VERY different thing.

scout because its a close family member......she felt better talking to a teacher, at least she told which is the main thing, shes 8 years old and told someone she trusts, her teacher, god bless my little star for doing that.

I was violated, when I was eight by a 16 yr old male and I was so scared and ashamed I never told anybody, granted it only happened once but i made sure I was never alone with him so it could happen and I was never alone before he pushed me to the side and touched me and if I would have told someone. My brother would have killed him, I was not scared that way I was ashamed, I felt dirty, and today i have never told my mom the only one I have ever told was my husband. Its not the moms fault at all, you trust kids to be good and really the girl is just a kid herself and had to learn it somewhere but yeah her parents need to know so they can get her help so she dont do it again for one and so she dont grow up thinking that behavior is ok. I'm sorry this happened to your daughter just make sure you hold her tight and reassure her its not her fault and she has nothing to be ashamed about or dirty and that you will protect her and for her to know now that she can come to you for anything. let her know that that little girl is sick and needs help. It is so hard and Im sorry, prayers go out to you. hang in there. You did nothing wrong.

You did the right thing by posting on here. I will talk to you and support you in anyway I can. Listen to all the positive things people are saying and throw away the negative things. You did the right thing and now the next step would be to get your daughter help and support her in anyway you can. (hugs)

my daughter is my life, shes a bright clever girl and my reason for living, i dont care how she told, im just glad she did, .....scout cant you understand the feeling of " i did something wrong " abuse victims feel ? she didnt tell me because she thought she was in trouble. she felt dirty, she felt she had done wrong, shes only 8 ffs.

Is the school involved? I would hope that the other girl's parents got called in as well, and that she will be punished.

Both girls will need some therapy..for different reasons, of course.
You just cannot friggin trust anyone anymore.

I have been in this situation...but with two sons that were abused by an older step brother and half brother to one. He was at the same age as your daughters abuser. They were younger than your daughter. I called the police immediately. It didnt even take me a second to think of what to do.

Call the police and press charges. We went to court and he had to go to counselling..much of it and was charged with offensive touching of minors. Not the charges I wanted to stick...but charged all the same. In my head...I also wanted to protect other kids from being abused by him and hopefully by charging him...it showed my boys that I would let noone harm them and it showed him that perhaps the next child he decided to harm would call the police too.
