Looks like I am not the only one who can appreciate a good controversial post. I struggle with faith too, although it's getting better. I can remember, though , spending years and years in so much pain that I hated God for not at least letting me have a little bit of peace. I don't know why God doesn't intervene in situations where mere mortals would quickly jump in and help, like sweating mentions. I do hear, though that we can not rely on our own negative thoughts and feelings, and that we do need keep believing in our own ability to heal and move forward.

He has answered prayers for me personally, not necessarily the answers I wanted. Depression is not a punishment for not doing right by God, it's imbalanced chemicals with multiple causes for that. We are organic beings and all the laws of nature apply to everything on earth.

I have a dog, or rather Ken has a dog. Sometimes she goes through spells where she won't eat, throws up water or anything else she eats. It goes away though. I truly am sorry for the pain Furbaby and angels's babies are going through. Ken's dog is old. I think that is part of the problem. Plus she is high strung and with the kids here it gets on her nerves.

As for God answering prays, he has for me. I agree with Pepper, depression is NOT a punishment, it is a disease! Just like any other disease we have to do what we need to do to take care of it and live the best we can with it. It starts with acceptance of the disease.

I don't try to scare people with the bogie man under the bed. But, evil does exist. Maybe that is why we have the murderers, pedophiles ect. We all have a right to our own beliefs and just like Heidi says, I do enjoy a good debate.

I am sorry it happens on this thread concerning Penn's cat. Maybe we should start a new post. But, one of the questions in this thread is..what's the point of believing in God. Whenever this subject is brought up, there are all kinds of responses to be prepared for.

this is a very big subject and has as maney vieues as there people....i didnt read all the postes .................but i think i read enough to get what this is all about what it has be come about .....................i am roman calatholic...............as a child we were made to go to church as a family...........and i actualy lisened to the priest when i was old enough to understand what was said and so i lisened for about 3 years and than formed an opinion that i did not like the way they portraid god in the church and in ther surming ...............they were huminising god you can not huminise god he is so far above us in every way and so huge and powerfull so i have made the choice not to go to church as an adult ..............there is a truth that i know and have been showen prof of and i dont know how you will take it but i want you all to know i do not tell lies or exaurate and would not wast your time or mine on eneything but the truth so help me god ...............there is a god ...........i belive this with all my being ..............there is a heaven i know this because i have seen a part of it and felt its power its power of love words can not exlain what i felt ..............i was at my sons weading and my brother had pased away the year befor and some how i just knew he would not miss my sons weding they were so close ................i dont drink because of the migrains just after the ceromoney i was standing in the reception area and my brother shoured my with yellow rosses for i dont know how long all i could see was blackness and these thousands of yellow roasess he uste give my mother a yellow roar every so often and we were talking about them just befor he pased away .................so i kew he was there but he wasent alone there was a croud of people with him so i knwe he would come to me later ..................and he did i saw him dancing on the dance floor my mom saw him my aunt saw him and my sister saw him and my brother...........and my son..................than towards the very end he came again to me i was just about to leave one room and had stood up and than felt somthing comming so i held on to two chairs and i saw my brother he looked so good younger happy there were a bunch of people with him some i knew ..............i could see him just as if he was real like you standig infrount fo me but he was sitting in a chait and there was an old woman in aweal chair beside.him they were 3 feet in the air because heaven is three feet above this earth ................he was looking through what looked to be like a big screan tv or moneter..............and i could see in and there were other people in there they looked at me and i looked at me ther were great pillers and there was a rosie mist on the flour ...........my brother gave me the masages there was no talking the masages were simply put into my head and there was trlepthy used mind to mind comunication...............i wanted him to take me with him but he started to back away and was gone ................and i was left with all kinds of masages to diliver ...............and so i did and the people were surprised and very happy to recive the masages there was a little somthing in there for everyone that no one else could know ..................and when i was done it felt like i hadent delivered them all and so i knew it had to be my sister so i called her and asked her if she told her husband his masage and she said yes and i said no you didnt and she admited she hadent so i told him my self .........................my emotions were very hightened all during this untill i finished my task ......................so thats how come i know there is a heaven and life after death ................also we are here in school to learn to love unconditionualy and to experiance and to help others to learn and experance ..............when we are in heaven we make a book with others we decide what we want to learn like how we do i school decide to take english or math only this is much more compcated.............when we come into this world our memorie of this is eraised .............but some of us like my self bring a little with us we are not compleatly wiped clean .......................when i was 2 i learned i had made a big mistake comming here and i beged god to take me back home since than i have not wanted to be here .......................well i think i have given you far to much to think about i dont know if i schouid be talking about these things in here you might think i am craser than i am ...........i sware to you all this is the truth..............god does not interfeer in our school work...........there is also no time there everything it instintanisalyi felt like i was gone for at least a half hour when it all happened in a split second ...............god bless everyone

God sacrificed his only son....couldn't there be another way to set an example? If god is all forgiving then shouldn't he forgive the unbelievers? What about the crusades...nasty stuff happened there. There are a lot of unanswered questions around god and I am kind of on the fence about it but I think the world is way overdue for christ's return. I really wish he could heal all of us.

Being a satanist has nothing to do with believing in Satan, or worshipping the devil. It means to worship yourself, to live your life the way you desire. Living your life to the fullest of your own gratification. You only answer to yourself, and no one else. Like some people follow religions and there's rules, satanism doesn't have rules, aslong as you cause no harm to anyone else.
