Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Support Group
Deep-vein thrombosis, also known as deep-venous thrombosis or DVT, is the formation of a blood clot ("thrombus") in a deep vein. It can be caused by something preventing blood from circulating or clotting normally. Join the support group if you are coping with DVT and find others who are going through the same challenges.
Do you really think that "Normal spontaneous and phasic waveforms are present" has to do with the valves? I wish it would say it on there. I want to know if there is vein damage. I do plan on making an appt. with my GP/internist to get the genetic blood testing done. I know that she will prescribe me xarelto when flying, my hemo seemed hesitant about it.
The leg is overall much better, and I am blessed for that. I had peroneal-popliteal-mild symptomatic PE, but the popliteal dissolved completely at 6 weeks; peroneal was still occluded at that point. I would say that I am probably just a tad more swollen on the left side (but I would only be able to tell if I measured with a tape measure). I can't feel any swelling, though it is hard to know if it is swelling from the meniscus surgery, sometimes that fluid they pump in there stays for a LONG time.
It aches more when I workout hard and sit, though I twirl and pump my feet constantly throughout the day nowit is habit (a good one now I guess). I made the mistake of doing a SeanT-Instanity workoutI realize that it will make it hard for me to distinguish between achy calves and post DVT pain so I should just stick to light aerobics and the bike.
And you are all right. I am happy with the improving results. Of course we all wish that full recanalization happens, and hopefully there is still some dissolving going on. Maybe I can convince my hemo into two more months of Xarelto. I do plan on starting a Natokinase supplement after Xarelto, if anything for the placebo effect and to calm my post-med anxiety.
I was doing really well for about 3 months with 100ml of water per day, but then my dad got sick and since I couldn't drink I drowned my sorrows in Starbucks and fell off the wagon. I wonder if that has slowed my progress. My dad developed DVT's in both of his popliteal veins, but after cancer diagnosis and wheelchair bound. He lost feeling in his legs. Before he died I had his oncologist/hemo do the blood test and it came back negative. I am praying that they were coincidental instances, though I would take a DVT over his Multiple Myeloma any day. I like to think that my daddy, my savior, took that bullet for me.
Thanks for all the great feedback everyone. It is good to get this off of my chest.
I had to look up the word OMINOUS LOL.
The dictionary says that it means something bad is likely to happen.
Was that your inclination of the results?
Gracias.
That's great news there's been improvement.
Do yourself a favor and stop picking apart that report.
OK.
Going to the memo tomorrow. We'll see what she says.
Talk about it with your doc and that's all you can do, right? Give yourself a break and just let it go for a day.
Later, she called me and left a message and said that she talked to the tech who read the doppler. She told me that there is NO residual clot, and that the "chronic changes" that were questioned were the appearance of what looks like vein wall thickening.
Although...isnt that really just leftover clot that has thickened the side of the vein wall? Anyway, i like that she did say no residual clot.
I think this comes down to terminology semantics.
