I am a 26 year old woman and I find that the older I get the more politically motivated I become. I understand more, research more, I see how society and the political agenda directly affects me and those I care for, how it all affects the child I am raising.... and I see how apathetic everyone I know is. I cannot post political articles on my wall without feeling every eyeroll that post would get. This very morning I tried once again to post http://www.huffingtonpost.com/lisa-bloom/why-the-new-child-rape-ca_b_10619944.html and then lost courage. I believe, passionately, that people should hear about this and at the very least consider the implications but I know people will react with annoyance! It won't change anything but how they view me, not Trump. My family, my mother, my stepfather, sister, even some friends will be voting for him. It is their choice, but how and why do Americans decide these things without researching or discussing it?! Have politics always been a joke, and is my heartache the punchline? I will fiercely trumpet my cause for Equality between races and genders, for a clean air for future generations, I will tattoo my body with my beliefs, I will beat my chest and march forth in pride at every rally I attend, and yet, most of my life is spent in routine. I wake up, I kiss my daughter goodbye at daycare, I come to work and see my news feed, I see the world I cannot change today, and I see how today and every other day, people are content to speak out about sports, celebrities, recipes but anything of substance, anything real or uncomfortable is out of bounds - always. No matter how many African American brothers and sisters are shot down, no matter how many kids Trump has allegedly raped, no matter what, bullshit comes first because American culture is just Pop culture wrapped up in red white and blue patriot stripes.

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
Clinton has comitted illegal acts and she's allowed to run. The point is neither have been convicted of a crime and so are free to run.
I think loathing politicians and yet believing the mere fact the person you voted for will miraculously improve your life has been ongoing in the US forever. Electing the unqualified is not unique to other nations.
I dont understand the full on loyalty thing some people have for a candidate......that happens here as well.
And yes, we do have a couple of alternatives. But the reality is that no alternate candidate has a chance of winning the election. So do we vote for the candidate we like the most, or hate the least?
Or do we vote for the worst one we think can win, so as to tell the political process that we are totally ticked off at them???
