I live in the U.K and the price of housing here is astronomical ,and being a small country it leads to overcrowding , I am thinking tentatively of moving to the states in a years time so just wanted to know really , do you have to be rich over there just to get a decent house?
p.s any Canadians feel free to comment as Canada is also on my 'list'

We have some rain, and desert......did you know Paul from the Beatles has land w/house down near Tucson..yeah he does......so does most of the celebraties!! Mostly up north in and around Scottsdale....
I can go on....but there is something to say about WA and AZ.
But have you seen red rocks and rocks so soooomth that you slide on them I have pictures somewhere around here with my kids playing on those rocks here in AZ. NO ONE talks about all the land you can hike and camp and HISTORY......what about Grand Cayon........
Do you know there is caves you can go in down by tucson.
I can't tell you one min you can be in snow the next hour you can play in the sand in the desert riding 4 wheelers over dunes.
John Wayne made a lot if not most of his pictures in AZ. In fact he had a dariy not too far from me...........it's still there not sure who ownes it any more........but it is the biggest dairy I have ever seen.
I can't do justice for now...........but up in the upper part of our state call the 4 corner area....you can go to Uath, CO, NM back to AZ
Up there is lots of hunting, camping, just so much...how about pitafied forrest where rock lays on the ground to pick up.....I walk all over it.
There is so much can't even say more.....
If you want land we have some up north that is cheap and you wouldn't even know it was in AZ you might think it was some other place. Trees etc.
I and my son are looking uip there because the land is cheap to buy.

sorry Jona, I was born in WA but it rains too much for me.
I haven't tried to visit there since my emphysema has gotten so bad. But I will attempt it eventually.
Inexpensive, nice place to live!
Rarely snows, good weather, never gets too cold, lots of public transportation, major airport, major train station, lots of good paying jobs, lots to do, big art community, several good universities, many good hospitals, the British royals never come there, mountains and lakes, beutiful scenery, lots of Georgia peaches!

It's kinda like Florida in the sense that there are more people from the north that have migrated down there and so you have an even balance of homeboys and transplants!
Around Atlanta it's probably more midwesterners and noreasterners living there than people born and raised in Georgia!
But it doesnt take long before you start sounding southern, like everybody else! *loti
Alot of people in Atlanta are from other states! Same as Florida!
People in the North get tired of the harsh winters in the North and move south for the warmer weather! Also jobs arent as plenty in the north as they are in the south! Even though I think it's about the same everywhere right now, because of the economy!
