yes (occasionally get an urge for oreos or chips ahoy)

Since everyone knows I like to cook, I never get out of homemade anything. lol

I do some simple baking (from a boxed mix lol) today my sons girlfriend made banana muffins for us

Favourite thing to bake?

cupcakes. ( vanilla with buttercream icing and coconut... OR chocolate with pb crème and choc buttercream)

Yes. (for the most part. lol) Something almost always tastes better when someone else makes it.

I am wondering what you call a butter tart? I would happily make you some if I knew. (big smile here) Wondering if it is like a butter cookie or shortbread that melt in your mouth? Or an actual tart ? ( I know sometimes we have different names for things.)

A buttertart is a pastry shell (muffin size) filled with a mixture of butter, brown sugar, corn syrup, eggs and vanilla. Some people add raisins or nuts. Apparently they are a Canadian thing lol

Have you ever tried maple taffy on snow?
We have a guy come to the school every winter, he has a tray of clean snow, pours maple syrup on it and as it hardens he rolls it onto a popsicle stick to make a lollipop for the kids. Very sweet but so good.

No, I have never even heard of the maple taffy on snow deal. (Here maple syrup comes originally from Vermont-- so perhaps the New Englanders have tried it) That sounds like a neat idea for the kids.

Your buttertarts sound scrumptious. I make a Christmas cookie --Nut tassies just like that but in small tart pans. (with pecans)

I have never heard of those cookies. Some may make them, but not anyone in my circle.

Do you participate in Christmas cookie exchanges? Many of my friends do, but since I’m not much of a baker, I don’t. Lol

We used to have one every year and had a ball If you don't like to bake--- you should try to get someone to make your batch for you (daughter or hubby). You would wind up with a variety of cookies to share at Christmas.

From the sound of the filling of your butter tarts, Nut tossies are just a bite size version... and also yummy.

I think nutty buddys. (Though ice cream sandwiches are a close second. Not much ice cream that would not get me excited. haha)

I’m not a big ice cream person, I really only eat vanilla or butterscotch ripple.

Yes. If I get that I love the mixed swirl . Van/ choc. I love Turkey Hill brand (local here in Pa) They have all sorts of feature flavors during different seasons as well... lemon meringue pie-- party cake (has chunks of bday cake and icing in vanilla ice cream) different ones named for PA sports teams during their seasons. pumpkin pie..
