Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

Just trying to get a feel for if this is appropriate.
I know that I personally am not comfortable with it..
But..that's just my feelings.
Do y'all think that folks who come on here ONLY to promote their blogs would be considered spammers or trolls?
To some it might appear helpful.
I just think if you're not going to join the group in any other way..it's somehow self-serving. If you want to share experience or knowledge....why not just do so rather than direct someone to your blog?
I also don't quite get how sharing our lives on someones personal blog is going to increase awareness of chronic pain.
I know I can..and in fact probably will..direct the question to DS.
But..was curious about how others feel about it.
' cause..I could have the totally wrong read on it. ( yeh..it happens..:-) :-) :-)

So mad at Xfinity! They're trying to charge me $115 per month for the same service I had been paying $50 the last four years. I took the equipment to UPS for shipping and cancelled my subscription today! Next door was a cookie shop called Crumbl. I had heard of it before but never went in until today. I don't need one more sugar fix, but maybe it will help with my sad) grieving heart....$15...

I know this is stupid, but after not being able to find a job after graduation for almost two years, I ended up just taking an online teaching job because I couldn't find anything in my field. I was trying to get out of teaching and I feel so devastated. I felt this crushing feeling when I signed the paperwork and when I was in the meetings. I know that sounds so dramatic but it is how I felt. It...

I don't want to share my life on anyone's blog.
Just my opinion though

DS is slow, opeinging another browser is slow.
If people can't be bothered cutting and pasting their thoughts here, they are just promoting their own blog to get their numbers up.
Same with constant uyoutube songs and sayings and all the other stuff people find so inspiring.
I think that's a way of sharing.
The blog thing seems kinda one-way.
I don't know anything about these things..but..I did think there's something about peoples numbers being higher is good.
And..as yet..the folks I've seen doing the blog thing in there post..don't indicate that it's about a blog in the title.

That is the beauty of freedom to not click that link or read that discussion.
I am in more of a live and let live mode I think. If it doesn't concern me, then I don't take it in.
I hate most all profanity and crudeness so when I see it I go the other way. There are lots of things here that bother me more than someone's blog on pain.
I usually don't even respond to things that could hurt someone either way..... it just isn't worth it.
But since it is you Jan, asking, I decided to, since I know that even if we have a difference of opinion it is OK.
But sometimes on here...... it seems not OK to have a difference.
But since everyone is different, we are all gonna differ.
Whew..... now I know why explaining myself is so exhausting.
being a positive thought and occasional song poster, i always tell people the source and what to expect or so i think %). no one HAS to click on a link.
there are times when very good article links are posted which is much easier than copying and pasting the whole thing. i think that if an established member shares a link, it's different than someone who just comes here to promote their site...
I have gotten some very good info from people posting links to articles that are helpful. Sharing things is helpful. If someone is sharing something they wrote or a piece of art that they did and are proud of it or thinks it might help someone else then it is O.K.
I Don't know anything about blogs and upping someones numbers If it is to generate money for someone then DS should stop it. If it is just sharing then it is up to the reader to click or move on.
Just my opinion. Hugs-RJ
It's good to hear all opinions.
Do people gain anything other than just better numbers from blogs?
I mean..is there a commercial reason for wanting higher numbers?
If not..then it's just my personal discomfort with it.
And..that and a couple bucks will get ya a cup of Starbucks..:-)

I'm glad you brought this up because I have been thinking the same thing for quite a while. Regular members who post links, songs, info, etc. I don't see as a problem. But the blog posts seem like a ROR violation because the title doesn't say "my new blog" or similar, there is only a link, and I don't see the poster participating in any other way. I guess in some ways it reminds me of a certain doctor from about a year ago. (Except he did promote his book on nearly every thread.)
If I've missed posts, and I am wrong about the blogger's intent, I apologize.
