Hi Folks!
You may or may not know me, but my name is Jesse and I work here at DailyStrength. I'm writing to let you know that we're looking to add a Community Leader to the Chronic Pain Support Group -- so we'd like to know if you want to become one!
In case you're not already familiar with what Community Leaders do, they're vibrant members who volunteer to greet new folks to the group, offer positive and constructive advice in discussion posts, and help steer negative topics back on track (and occasionally close a clearly abusive discussion post, which is very rare in this group). If you have any questions or are interested in becoming a volunteer CL, please send me a private message with the subject heading of "CL for Chronic Pain". DS staff will then review the candidates.
To be considered for the role of a CL, we'd like to ask that you:
1. Be okay with having a profile privacy setting of either "Everybody" or "DS Members". That way new members can greet you back!
2. Have not received prior warnings from DS for violations of the Rules of the Road.
3. Have been an active member of the Chronic Pain support group for at least six months.
I'll leave this post up for a few days, and I might bump it up every once and a while so it stays on the main page.

I have to say that Medical Marijuana is legal where I live and the places that do not yet have it legal it is because of politics. I feel that if someone gets relief from this more power to them. I know it might not matter to you but I feel like just because ChronicIL is not here I feel like I owe it to her to defend her on this, she has been a great source of support to me.
I really do not see what you see in this group, sure once in awhile we have a post go off but in the big scope of things with the number of post put on here that is pretty good odds.
With you feeling this way I am not sure either why you came back it seems it would be more of a stress to you then a help. Plus especially you who thinks that the group is in such dire need a CL would be needed and I would think you would be all for it. Why would you not want it to be better.
There is a great saying you can be part of the problem or be part of the solution, you just have to decide what part you want to be on.
Peace to you, I wish you got more out of the group like alot of us do. Hope one day you can.
he's not *asking* whether you think the CL should be from this group or not, or who you *think* the CL should be, or even if we *need* a CL, nor the price of tea in china.
i would venture to guess that he's not interested in all of this..
he just wants you to write to HIM to nominate YOURSELF if you would like to be that CL.
just thought i'd clear that up, since we all seem to be missing it!

Freedom, I know you didn't agree with ChronicILs stand on a few things and I probably shouldn't have brought it up, it's still a sore spot for many of us.
It would be a pretty boring place if we all had the same oppinions.
Let's all just remember that the CL or CLs are going to need our support.
I think that you would be a wonderful CL, and with the help of Millie the cat, you would be a hit!! LOL!!!
I think this thread shows our need to be able to work as a group and think and talk and be real people and be who we are which is not just people in chronic pain.
I love hearing peoples veiwppoints and to me this is one of the most interesting threads going on.
I like a little drama..not too much, and not negative so to speak but drama is not necessarily a bad thing. We are all different so our drama comes forth in who we are.
