Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
Have a ballot of sorts as a thread and ask for responses back to Jesse, or DS, through his private messaging. I think that's what you mean.
David.
Choosing the right person for the job is really important with this big group of diverse personalities.
Little having seen how other CLs in other groups work I think the fact that they have friends is not generally a problem. In fact since CLs have been put on the boards I have only come across one who chose to support a friend of their's who was clearly wrong (ended up banned in the end by DS) - it was NOT on the board that the CL was appointed to and I think that this was addressed.
Hope they make a good and wise choice as there are times when this board does go into melt down and it would be good to have someone on the ground to deal with it.
Hopefully they will find someone who is both willing and able to do the job. I have sent Jesse a pm about it and hopefully the people or are not really "right" for the job will be overlooked.
I also agree with choosing someone that has at the very LEAST -- 6 months here.
Reason I feel this way...people come and go here ...ALOT ...if they havent been here long enough - they dont have a "feel" (for lack of a better word) for this board. It has an ebb and flow of similar questions and ideas over time. I feel it would be in the best interest of everyone... to pick someone that makes DS a big part of their life and IMO the length of time that they have spent on the board is a good example of their commitment to the board.
IMHO... the perfect candidate would be someone with a "big picture" mindset that will have the ability to interpret what is happening during a disagreement - be fair - and resolve it as SOON as possible... LOL...
I think the most important and most difficult part about being a CL will be walking that fine line between seeing the difference between abuse and the need to let people be honest and speak their mind freely. This board is communication - first and foremost. In my experience and from what I have read here...most people don't get this kind of privilege anywhere else but DS.
Anyway...LOL
Big YES to the VOTE.... :)
