Hi everyone! New here, and recently found a lump on my left breast. Luckily I was able to get in and see my primary care PA fairly quickly. Then a mammogram and ultrasound a few days later. Because of the lump, they also did an ultrasound and found another spot. A few days after that I had the biopsy (not gonna lie), they hit a nerve and it hurt. But the doctor and techs were fabulous.
I live in a small mountain community in the Eastern Sierras, the hospital is an hour away, and many of the doctors are from southern California, and come north one week a month. So I got lucky getting all these appointments so soon. Not only that, but I was able to get a consultation appointment later this month with the surgeon. She is only here 2 days a month. The bulk of her practice comes from the Then hopefully surgery in September or October. I am pretty sure the surgeon will recommend a mastectomy. And now the choice will be just one or both...

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
I am having stage 0 breast cancer (not a lump but ductal tissue) removed in early September. Just finished jumping through the hoops, blood work, cardiac work up. So far so good. I will be going on a short vacation and then coming back and getting the tracer thing put into my breast prior to surgery.
I live in a huge city with a regional medical center approach and excellent medical care, but it took two months to get the appointment to see the breast surgeon. She may be very busy, top of her field, nice lady but her office staff is slow and untrained.

The past few days have been good ones, doing things to stay occupied. About 6 years ago I started coloring again. I find that if I focus on detailed pictures I don't think so much. I am still all over the place mentally.
I like to read. I don't find coloring relaxing - sad for me! I also like to garden but that is not easy in this high heat and my bad shoulder. I will have my surgical marker put in the day of your surgeon appointment so we can think of each other on this day and wish each other well. Then I have about 10 days till surgery. Mine is thought to be less than yours at this time. They do a biopsy after surgery and that really tells them.
I had the surgical marker inserted yesterday and that was easy but then they do a bone crushing mammogram that hurt so bad I got shaky. YIKES. The resident was learning and so I have two surgical markers put in. Hurts a little today but nothing major. It didn't start hurting till I had to touch it and then like a bruise it starts hurting when before you didn't notice it. They say go on about your daily routine.
I had my "lumpectomy" which was not a lump but ductal tissue removal 10 days ago. Still hurts, looks like a 3 inch incision. Ask if you will need a "medical compression front closing bra" for after surgery. I was told as they were releasing me from out-patient surgery. I can not wear the really tight bras as they give me more arthritis pain and apparently some of them have areas for the tubes and stuff. I did not have that issue but I can't wear compression on my ribs. I ended up buying two sizes too big of a cotton medical zip front bra on Amazon.
I agree with limiting all the other stuff that you don't find necessary. Do what feels right for you. I doubt I would do implants myself, I am too allergic and have too many other health issues.
