on 9/25 I had my smx. Don't remember much except being wheeled into the OR. I was lucky, fantastic surgeon and nurses. Only had to spend one night in the hospital. The anticipation was the worst. Now, I have to wait a few weeks to find out if the cancer spread into the nodes.

I am hoping for the best for you kmhll447! It appears this forum is only you and I at this point and I hope you will come back and keep me updated. I am about 2.5 weeks out from a much lesser surgery and still in minor/medium but aggravating pain. Got my own good news that the biopsy showed non-cancerous and they got the margins removed. But it puts me into a high risk stage, which maybe they already told you about. And what that entails with future doctor visits, etc. The good news is breast cancer surgery and treatment has some so far. I am finding the recovery is far worse for me than I expected or was told but some of that may be because I already have chronic pain and can't wear the tight surgical post op bras they recommend. And this doctor and her NP did not want to give me prescription pain meds, was told the pain would be gone in 4 days as 'most women find'. LOL. At my follow up, I complained of the continuing pain and was told it will take about 6 months for all the tissue to heal, knit back together and again no pain meds offered.

Just a short note to tell you I think I found a good source for post mastectomy bras. The Busted Tank. My issue is not mastectomy but other surgeries, other rib cage injuries and arthritis and bras just hurt. Having a good non compression but soft bra would have made my own recovery less painful. This company does have the slight compression types and the non-compression types and the comments are very positive. Anyway, I am waiting on my order.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
