Okay, I commented on this when you originally posted this, and saw that it popped up again. And this just came to me: the user name. Heave? Do you really want a name that suggests vomiting on a dating site? Works just great for 'Breakup and Divorce', I thought it was hilarious the first time I saw it, but maybe doesn't just cry out "chick magnet". Just a thought....

HeaveToo does not suggest throwing up. Heave Too is a nauticle term for basically parking your boat at sea. In order for a ship to heave too you backwind the jib and flutter the mainsail with the helm locked hard to leeward. It stabalizes the boat.

It is also a method for riding out a storm.

I did the whole dating site thing too. I just quit, because I have other things to focus on and there are just too many phoneys. Too many phoneys. I think I met three women that were not phoney in almost a full year of trying to date from dating sites. One I am a good friend with and the other I did not kiss after a great six-hour date, because my divorce was not final and I was still messed up because of that. Man... I wish I would of kissed her. She was beautiful, smart and funny.

I do not take a good picture and never will, but these "women" don't care. I am an attractive man and have been told so over and over, but I just can not take a good picture. Most of them are looking for a "hot guy" to fuck, while they are married or "fishing" while looking for someone else when they are in a relationship. Just like my ex.

You aren't missing anything. There are a ton of places to meet women. Walk your dog. Go to a park. Go to a coffee shop. Take a bike ride. Opportunity is around every corner. I am lucky that I get to go to one of the biggest meat markets in the world -- college.

Good luck. Try and do things that will boost your confidence... like excercise. I am starting an excercise routine and it makes me feel great. Love those endorphines.

my thots on online dating, i placed a profile on match.com, plenty of contacts, it was exciting, until one day they sent my matches and there on the email was a pic of my ex stating we were 97% compatible. ouch....he's emotionally abusive, drug addict, sex addict, gambling addict and pathological liar. deleted my profile, obviously, i must still be looking for someone like him according to match. back to being party of one for now

I've checked out those rated pictures on POF, hardly anyone ever gets a good rating. Me, I wouldn't even think of subjecting myself to that type of ridicule. Don't let it get you down.

People get way to hung up on looks. Yes, there should be some physical attraction and chemistry, but looks will fade over time. Personality is difficult to change. Most important to me is how a guy treats me and others around him. I'll pick the good guy over the gorgeous guy any day! :)
