went and looked at your 'fishing-page'. Speaking as an 'older gal'--I was impressed by your page! Showed you gave your answers a lot of thought and consideration and you left a lot of information for someone to find a common thread. Good for you.....Thought your picture was at least a 8+--would've probably given you a much higher score--but with the hat on can't see your face as well.

May I make a suggestion???--If you are really concerned about the photo rating thing--maybe you could add a picture of you in just a nice shirt and jeans or dockers or whatever you might go on a casual date in?? Leave the other interesting ones there too--but us ladies might like to see your hansome self outside of a river in regular clothes. Hope I didnt overstep boundaries here....wish I had the confidence to think of dating.

I would never put my picture anywhere that it could be rated. There are too many shallow people in the world.. and I am no beauty queen. But that doesnt mean that I am not beautiful where it really matters.

I did the very same thing on the very same site. Turned it off after only one hit. Sent messages and flirted. Nada. Ladies that I work with tell me that I am attractive and that they would. Ya know. But don't ever do that at work. Only leads to trouble. I agree that getting to know someone is very important. A must to be friends. Attraction is also important to some degree. I won't go back to that or hit any other site that has to deal with it. I is like you said a confidence killer. On a hell no basis. I got thinking is that really who you would be talking to?

Yes tou are right about the looks thing but if a woman is eally on that site to find say her soulmate then she will go further on your profile than the picture. And it is very true with women we work on an emotional level for the better person you are the better looking you becaom Hang in there if she is out there she will look passed the 4.5 and you could be a 2.5 think about that!!

I had some great success on POF. Someone wrote that humour is important and I believe that to be true. My first profile was too serious and then I changed it to a funny profile and got dozens of messages (pictures stayed the same). I changed my screen name to "Leaves the seat down" and that attracted all the women with a wry sense of humour.

well i checked it out and of course if i was in your age group, i would have replied. judging a person on their looks alone is very shallow. take off the rating thing on your POF account.

OMG - I wouldnt worry about the ratings. I posted on POF as well (twice maybe) just looking around to see what was out there (window shopping - to see what things would be like) and it made me even more sure about being alone forever. The people who contacted me.... I can just tell you if those were the best pics they could find I would be afraid to meet them in public. Some said they were like 46 and looked every bit of 66!! I say get off the sites - at least the free ones and if you are ready and interested see people in person. Check out meetup.com - they have loads of all types of meetings (not just divorced groups) at a lot of places and I hear good things. PS I haven't seen you but would rate you a 10!!

Heave I looked at your profile. You are a nice looking man. One thing I would suggest is that you put pictures where you can actually see your face! :-) And don't worry about the feedback. Personality counts for so much more. Some of the men that I know to whom I am the most attracted would be considered 'average looking' but when you add in who they actually are, they are wonderful. Be patient.

I tried POF twice in the past year. I also agree about not rating the pics. btw, I looked and I saw nothing wrong with them. Anyways, the dating sites never worked for me. I am not a "classic beauty". And people on there for the most part are seeking sex and beauty. I have heard of two success stories with close friends. Great for them. Makes me almost want to try again, but I am not ready for the pitfalls for it. So I will just stay the way I am for now.
Besides I have plenty to choose from at work. LOL. Not that I want to get involve with them but here I am thinking with the one..... I may. :)

Try a different picture. I had a picture of myself on there as well .... I think I was overall a 7, but I had ratings anywhere from a 4 to a 10. It's all subjective anyway, based on other peoples' opinions of what makes for good looks and what doesn't.
