That has not been my personal experience, nor does it seem to be the experience of many other women.
Also, I think there's a bit more to the whole sex thing than simply, did intercourse occur.
When I was with my ex, we had sex a lot, which was great, but I rarely got what I needed (more foreplay, him taking some time to focus on my pleasure, too, not just his).
So many times I lay there afterwards with the female version of blueballs, while he slumbered blissfully (this was the case with other boyfriends, too) -- so, no, I didn't feel like I controlled the sex.
(Yes, yes, yes I talked to him about it, I showed him, I gave positive reinforcement, etc. ,etc. -- nothing.)
Bleah. Most men don't know how to have good sex.
Last time I had mind-blowing sex, I was in friggin college. That guy even wanted to marry me -- and I said no.
Doh!
I would like to thank you so very much for this post. It has been enlightening.
God shows you just what you see.... when you need to see it.
