I expected, and was looking for the woman I was going to spend the rest of my life with from date 1.

I haven't dated in over 20 years though, and would probably do the exact same thing, post break-up, healing, and stabling out.

I expect to spend lots of money and probably get strung along by a couple women who think I'm okay and don't mind a few free meals.

I think that for the first date I would keep my plans to myself. Afterwards if you find out you want to continue seeing the other person then you can be more upfront and honest.

No I wouldn't. I wanted to meet men to become friends when I had may crazy September. I was hoping that I could find some people to hang out with and just get to know, and just see what happened. Each man wanted me to date them only. I was not ready for that, but I was told that if I wanted to date other men also that I was not ready for a relationship and they were ready for one. So I guess you need to find out if the woman you are interested in dating are on the same page as you. I decided to totally forgo dating for now. I have decided that when I start I need to be ready for the chance it could develop into a relationship. Hope this makes sense.

If this is a first date, then you are just hanging out, seeing how much you have in common, if you want to pursue anything. IMO, nothing wrong with more than 1 first date in the same week. As one of your "first dates" I wouldn't want to know about the others, you could simply tell me you were "going to dinner with a friend that night" This would not be a fabrication imo because you are not in a relationship (yet) with other first date either.

If you are dating me, that means this isn't a first date, correct? That might change my answer. Heck, you can "talk" to anyone you want... taking them out when you are dating me? We would have a problem. We might not still be dating.

First up, let all know that you are dating...meaning more than one possible party...make that clear...if they ladies are OK with that good if not pass them by......leave it open....you never know what will happen...... If you are really looking for a serious relationship... proceed with caution.....
