Taking deep breaths, unexpected breakdown tonight.

It's midnight and I just asked my ex if he's talking to other women, dating etc.. I fell into the trap of wanting to know what's going on, being led by my insecurities and heartbreak. He said yes he's met other women and talking to them. The point isn't whether he's romantically involved or they are friendships. I did not expect his response. I have to stay it opened my wounds and in that moment in time it broke me.
It broke me because he's been texting me about his day and making jokes as if we were friends or to fill his time. Anytime he's texted, he's never asked how I've been doing or any other detail about my personal life, I see that now.
I also see that I allowed it because I needed comfort myself. I feel like I was used to giving more than I received in the relationship and he's used to that too. I understand it is not my place to know or ask. In time, I want to work on dismantling my expectations related to that. I set a boundary tonight I asked him to stop texting me unless it related to the divorce proceedings and things we have to sort out.
I'm going to take deep breaths. Tomorrow is another opportunity to refocus and heal. Just venting tonight.
How do you all handle this kind of situation?

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...

It's going to hurt like hell and be a transition in your life but you will get there and you will get through this. It is difficult when you have been with someone for that long and it will take some getting used to. I suspect that is why he is texting you now... he is used to the familiarity you two had. Yes, you can be strong, you will get through this. We're here for you! Hugs.
Seems as you are handling well as we all could. He was honest in being upfront. Yes it hurts. But let me tell you from my experience.I will tell you what I have learned not what I have done in the past to cope. If you are honest with yourself-simply meaning confronting your own insecurities, fears, uphill struggle-if you say okay universe this is all what it is- I see, accept and do not give into my emotions( do not react to your emotions-just keep putting in the work, the grind to stay positive -something changes-It happened to me. One day I was okay with accepting what will be,will be.It was quite shocking lol but I was sooo happy because I did it on my own-I just believed in keeping the right attitude, and I swear to you - all else just melted away.Peace Love, Light, Joy showering you.
