I really need support. Right now I have no one to talk to. I have been married to my husband for over 10 years and together over 16 years. I am now over 50. Seven months ago he admitted to me that he wants a lifestyle that I want no part of. I cannot go to a group specifically for this because they are all about accepting. I just can't. I had no clue. Stood by him through opioid addiction and losing his business followed by his bankruptcy that resulted in us losing our house. A close family member of mine sold her house and moved with us to a new house over two years ago. I have not worked since the commute became too much. Then I have had two surgeries this year that have left me partially disabled in a way that affects the job I used to do. Now this. It would have been bad enough if it had just been me but now it affects this other person who sold her house to help us start over. He is choosing a path that I cannot and will not follow. We still live in the same house. Still sleep in the same bed. I still love him. I never, in a million years would have thought this would have happened. I trusted him with my heart. We were the perfect couple. He is my best friend. A few months ago he told me he is too old to start this "new life". However, just last week i found out that he has been lying and continuing. I am heartbroken. I get so angry that I become someone I don't like. Understand that I love him and this is killing me. I feel worthless that he could just throw our life together away. I won't kiss him, hug him or touch him since i found out. He tells me he loves me and i tell him that I don't believe him. If he leaves I will end up losing our new house because even if I get back to work I cannot afford the mortgage because I won't be able to earn enough to pay it. This family member of mine sold her house to move with us and the deal was that we would pay the mortgage. I feel like I let her down. I feel worthless and unloved. I trusted him with my heart. I waited a long time to find him. I never had children (which I always dreamed of). I feel I am going to die alone. I will have no one to take care of me when I get old. I am just hurting so much and don't know where to go from here.

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...

I know it's a lot to deal with, but hopefully your friend can help you with this. See a divorce attorney and get what's rightfully yours.
You did nothing wrong. You can't stop him from doing what he chooses to do. You need to look out for yourself now. I know this is all hard.
I am not worried about attorneys as yet. I just need emotional support because I feel I am barely holding on. I have no faith in therapists. We went to a marriage counselor a few months ago. What kind of marriage counselor tells you that marriage is nothing but a bunch of bullsh—? I tried a Catholic priest and he wanted to refer me to a counselor that I cannot afford. I feel all alone.
Sitting where you are now is the worst. But, don't just sit. Do. Something. Anything. It will give you different perspective, and leave you at the end of the day feeling a sense of accomplishment and progress,.
Right now no one knows what is going on. He still wants to stay married. I told him I can’t stay married if he still wants to do this.
He is the love of my life. I thought we were happy. I waited a long time to find him. He has been my world. I am lost and just want my husband back. I wake up every morning and just start crying.
I agree with what many are thinking. You have to consider what is best for you and not just imagining that he owes you something for your honest efforts. What is important is the health and well-being of you and the elderly relative, which I totally feel for her, and I don't imagine that she blames you for what's going on now. The aged have much wisdom and she can be of great emotional support to you if you share with her your thoughts. And at some point, the two of you are going to have to consider jointly how to handle this situation in a practical way.
You tell that your husband is willing to stay married. Then use this idea to your advantage. Let's get clear here: he stays and helps with the bills while you and the relative store enough of "his" money to dig a new life out of the dust of this new type of relationship. And please don't cast your pearls before this man-swine while imaging that picture of true love - it's no longer that.
I understand how humbling this experience is for you. However, start planning today on acceptance and move forward with pride, which feeling he's sinking in you.
Best always and I send you loving thoughts today.
Right now we are trying to work things out. Keep me in your prayers.
