I was making popcorn on the stovetop and had to change a baby's diaper and caught the oil on fire one time.....

Flames halfway to the ceiling, with my infant and 2 year old in the house. No harm done in the end, just a permanent memory.....

I had my Philippe Starck kettle on the stove while getting dressed for work when the power went out in the neighbourhood. I didnt realize I'd forgotten to turn off the cold stove before I left, until I came back at lunch 4 hours later and the kettle was glowing hot, the handle had melted and long ago caught fire (there was black ash all over the place) and the open yellow pages (open to the Hydro company) on the counter just 10 inches away was unscathed.

Dodged a bullet that day.

I got a paper cut.

Haven't burned anything but I actually drafted a memo on how to micowave popcorn for the dipshits down the hall at work who kept burning it and making the fire alarm go on.
