Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
I find, lately, I'm becoming absent minded. I almost burned my fucking house down today. True story.
I don't need to be mindfully reckless. Apparently, I can do reckless without even being a party to it.
I might even require an online support group to help me with it.
DAB...danm, man...glad it wasn't worse than it was...
I was making myself a pepper and egg sandwich this AM. It was fucking good, by the way. I used the sharp provolone and an amoroso roll, so it was amazing.
Anyway, I must have accidentally put one of the back burners on low accidentally, because it ended up staying lit AND burning the counter top next to it. I noticed a smell and couldn't locate it, because I only noticed it by the vents in the house. Apparently, the smell and smoke made it's way to the closest heating vent to the kitchen and permeated the house.
At first, I thought it was the Xmas tree, because of a billow of smoke by the tree. So I started tearing that fucker apart (my son wasn't here today, Thank God for that).
But, I noticed a billow of smoke coming from the kitchen, and I checked there. And the stove was the issue. The reason for the smoke by the tree was simply because there was a vent nearby the tree.
That was 2 hours of unforced labor cleaning that mess up. And there is a huge burn mark on the small counter next to the stove. No idea how I'm fixing that one. That was cause for having a few beers tonight, by the way. That shook me up big time.
So, apparently, I've become mildly stupid lately and without the help of drugs or alcohol.
also...drink an 18 pack and smoke a blunt...
I was relieved when I saw the source of the problem and I immediately switched gears to "incredibly annoyed". How could I have missed that???
I just thank Christ my kid wasn't here. If he was, I probably would have called 911 immediately and felt like an asshole when they (easily) found the problem. Not to mention the smell. It's gone now, but damn, it stunk of burnt plastic for awhile here.
But that sandwich? Awesome.
glad you are ok
And Hiker, I'm looking at the positive, with the tree. I'm that much closer to having that thing down tomorrow.
Me = Ahead of the game.
*high fives self, but still misses*
We all have our priorities, glad yours are in order!
@ALC: I gotta say, the sandwich was good. I got good experience helping out in my Uncle's deli just after college on how to make a good sandwich. More than 50% of the problem is solved by how good the bread is. It seems obvious, but you'd be amazed as to how often that gets fucked up. Especially, for something like a pepper and egg sandwich. Not sure a hard roll works there. A softer, "hoagie" roll, like an Amoroso style roll works.
Also, I did the sandwich in olive oil, rather than butter. It doesn't feel as heavy that way.
And my house is still standing, by the way. No small feat for me, apparently.
