Hi All,
It seems like I post here every summer lol. It sucks. At this point I keep meeting all the wrong men. Like I'm not able to pick the right one. So, I've been single for a year but my ex narcissistic strung me along for 1 year too. By continuing to contact me every month since our break up, with false promises. I told him off badly about 2 weeks ago, so its finally been a full month since he contacted me. Its now over a year since we met, too.. I'm really disgusted with his behavior. I plan to change my number when I move for a fresh beginning. I also met another guy this year but he seems to get upset when I don't answer my phone all the time. I'm typically busy because I am self employed. It seems like we are moving forward but during these times its like we go backwards.
I feel like I'm the only person on earth who attracts emotional, physically, sexually, controlling, possessive abusive men. Even though I know I'm not alone, and its so depressive. The only way to heal for me is to let it out. Writing this helps. I want to move on but to a healthy relationship. Everytime I build myself up, there's a weirdo narc waiting around the corner to tear me down. I at times I feel so low, and like settling. Because everyone is waiting for me to get married. It's so frustrating. Any words of encouragement or how to heal faster would help. Thanks in advance.

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...

Are you meeting these men in the same places? Perhaps you could look somewhere new to meet quality men. Churches comes to mind. Also, do some volunteer work, you can meet good men there.
Also, you could do some self help to help you with picking better men. It sounds to me that you might need a self esteem boost. The more you love yourself, you won't let another person hurt you or talk to you badly, treat you bad, etc.
There are some self help things online, also check YouTube. Books you could read about avoiding narcissists and abusive men are all over Amazon.
Lastly, you could get into therapy to find out why you are attracted to these types of men.
You're going to be okay. You just have to do some work on yourself. Oh, and block that guy's number. Don't wait until you change your phone number. That almost sounds like an excuse... that you kind of still want him to contact you. Go No Contact, delete him from all phones, texts, social media. You need a fresh start with your life. You can do this!!!
I really appreciate your help, advice, and willingness to help me ❤
Sometimes just taking a walk around your neighborhood, people tend to talk to other people walking their dogs. You never know???
Keep trying! You're doing great! Don't let these guys knock you down.
Imagine telling a woman, I just inherited $400,000 and I'm worried some friends may ask to borrow money. Someone is likely to do that. I think the old advice still makes sense.
Look for a decent guy, don't got to bed quickly or create a scenario where that could be expected, get to know someone first. ,
Hold on to your boundaries and build on them for they are what makes you, you.
You will be able to tell the right person all about your past and they will support you and help you grow in what you need.
There is no secret formula for finding the right person, Each person bring something to you and takes something away when they leave.
When you are truly in the right place of loving yourself, and patient God will bring the right person to you.
While you are single enjoy all the benefits of being single. The bible actually talks about the gift of being single and it is ok to be single.
Love yourself, build on your values and assets, and be the best person you can be.
I pray you are safe and healthy.
Bobby absencing from sex allows me to know what a persons true intentions are as well as if I really like this person. If a guy gets angry or cannot control himself than he cannot sleep with me. I make things know up front! You are not going to rush me to the sheets. Lol, my ex tried to and took it as a form of rejection although I made my intentions very crystal clear... its all good now, can't look back now, its over already.
