Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. First person I dated was for 16 days. They seemed to have personal issues, as well as trying to get theirself together, not wanting anything serious, and also told me they felt "no spark or connection". Despite it all being questionable to my friends, therapist, and I, you would think because it was a 16 day relationship, I would be over it, right? Nope; I thought I was but each time I move on, my heartstrings bring me to tears. It is 2019, I am much more positive, loving myself, looking forward to making a great year and showing the universe I am ready for whatever it brings into my life (hopefully a new relationship), but also fearing because I can't seem to get over this person. I push to move on so I can receive love from someone else, since I am a spiritual person and believe to an extent, positivity and having control over your life grants you access to what you desire, but I'm afraid if I don't stop thinking about how much I want this person in my life again, I won't move forward like I am trying to, as well as not finding new love or "receiving" anything from the universe. My body moves forward for the better; my heart holds back for the worse.

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...

The "relationship" that you're stuck on...is the one in your head. It's addictive because in your head the person will never fart, never leave your favorite food out to spoil, never forget that you had a date, never be selfish, leave towels on the floor, or bother you while you're trying to do something else.
I constantly tell myself to stop thinking about what did happen and what NEVER happened. Then slowly I can focus more on me.
@patti22 You are very right, also because we ended on good terms, despite getting dumped. So not seeing anything bad about this person/relationship necessarily is what made it still seem like we could have had something great. I feel like if there was something horrible about my ex, I wouldn't be feeling this way as much because I would stick to remembering why we broke up and why I should not be with them, for that reason, but I'm glad to end on good terms.
You're going to have to put yourself out there and meet new people. I know it can be difficult. Four months is too long to be obsessing about someone you barely knew, and who didn't want to be in a relationship. Once you start meeting, and going out with, new people, you will forget all about this 16 day person. You can do it! Good luck!
