He died and now i feel like it's all my fault

Over 2 weeks ago i caught my boyfriend of 4 months huffing duster i was completely in shock because i never knew, I promptly asked to leave my home where i have children. He sent me 2 txt over the last two weeks begging for forgiveness. I told him i forgave him but that i could not have him around my kids, I just found out this morning he passed away yesterday from huffing and all i can think is I could have at least been a friend and talked to him about why he does it and try to get him help. It keeps replaying over and over in my head and looking at the 2 text i ignored because i was too scared that i would take him back because i'm scared of being alone. However, since this is not the 1st but 2nd time this happened in my life first one was my sons dad while i was preggo with my son he shot and killed himself and now come to find out my ex died huffing. I know however that there are alot going on in my head. I keep asking myself i wish the lasts words i told him weren't to get the hell out of my house, i wish i could have said goodbye to him.Why do i keep attracting men who are very much like me broken, I try and look at the postivie because i don't want to be a burden on my family.I can only take so much today so i just wanted to put how i was feeling. I sit here and think was he scared? Did he do it on purpose? Did he think of his family and friends? I know for what ever reason maybe he is at peace.

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...

It is hard on you and painful
But their death is not about you. In fact, I would look at it as you gave them a gift of friendship, respect and happiness while you were in their life.
Taking your own life is hard, its a struggle of the mind and soul, everything looks dark, seeing no way out of our struggles but death. Ones own self death is contemplated because we have no meaning, no purpose, no goal, we only see the failures in ourself, we cant see the joy we bring others. We cant see the pain of others once we are missed, We have to save ourselves, we have to reach out and ask for help. No one can save us, but ourselves and God.
When we give up living for drugs, alcohol, sex, porn, and other addicts, and turn toward God a power higher than ourselves is the point we truly start living.
You have a gift, a gift of being a mom, a wife, a spouse and a partner, no one can take those things away from you.
Actions of others do not define you, only your actions and your faith in God define you.
Please take this time to heal to regain your happiness in your soul.
Mourning the lost of friends and family hurts and needs time to grief and respect the feelings and emotions that you have. Dont dismiss your pain for that is part of you and your soul.
I pray that you are safe and have others to talk to.
Take time for yourself to mourn, to grieve. Take care of YOU now, during this difficult time. Make sure you do self care - eating 3 meals, drink 8 glasses of water a day, sleep well, de-stress, do things that make you happy, take walks or exercise. Basic things that we all need to do each day and the body needs.
You made the right decision, you have to put your children first.
In time you may well have had the opportunity to offer support or friendship.
As harsh as it sounds he made his choices, not you.
The most supportive thing I ever heard was
"sometimes terrible things happen, we can take comfort in the fact that we did not cause them".
You made the correct decisions.
As someone else said, his story was very likely to end that way. Your choices likely spared your children having to experience it.
Wishing you all the best
