Been reading posts for the past month or so. Reassuring to see that others are going through the same thing as me. Makes me feel a little less lonely.
My husband suddenly left me a year ago. He had been having an internet relationship for 4 years and it had become physical. "She" was the love of his life. He wanted nothing to do with me or our 2 girls. I was stunned; still am. I knew we were not "connected" but it seemed no worse than any of my friends with young kids and demanding jobs. kids were getting older, time to spend more time together... and it all fell a part.
I just feel so stupid, and lonely, and unlovable, and ... stupid. How could I not have seen it? It has been a year. Why am I Not over it? I should be over it. It sucks that he sits home all day without a job collecting spousal support from me... while I have to somehow manage to keep my shit together at work when all I wan to do most of the time is sleep. Need my well paid executive job to meet my spousal support obligations - but what I wouldn't do to be able to "tap out" of the workforce for a while and just cuddle with my kids
Stupid, lonely, tired. That about sums it up...

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
If you were talking to a best friend who was going through and doing all of this, would you tell her she is stupid? Not in a million years.
Unfortunately, loneliness and fatigue are part of the process. We are all going through that. While it is easy to judge ourselves and be our own worst critics, please focus on what you are accomplishing. Don't add beating yourself up to the mix. Nothing you did made him cheat on you - that was his decision. Take pride in the strength, resolve and competency you are exhibiting and the stability and love you are providing for your children. Take a deep breath, and take it one day at a time.
Prayers and hugs to you. Know you are not alone, and the people here care and are very helpful at helping us see reality, uncover manipulation and speed us toward recovery and a brighter future. Sure it will take a long time, but it is there for us.
You are not stupid at all you were being the responsible one in the relationship and he just took advantage of it and still is. How long do you have to pay him? and on what grounds are you having to pay him? if you don't mind me asking. Keep checking the laws in your area for any changes that may effect you. If he is claiming he is disabled and cannot work for whatever reason maybe you can prove him wrong. I don't know your situation but hang in there. You cannot compete with the internet these days and you are better than that anyway. People kid themselves everyday falling in love with someone they chat with. it all changes when reality sets in. it's ok hunny, she'll be paying him support next or maybe he'll get remarried and you wont have to anymore. I'm sorry you are in this situation but you are the better person.
Have you seeked any kind of resolution to your situation?
I keep reverting back to thinking of my exh, living it up in our home.. his cushy job.. and his new B of a girl having sooo much fun going out and doing whatever they want because I have the kids.. buts its ALL IN MY HEAD.. and I KNOW its not as wonderful as I'm making it out to be.. last time I dropped off the kids, his place was a disaster, laundry piled up, kitchen piled up.. and his lazy ass was sitting like usual watching the tv..
Moving forward is tough.. but you can do it :) you deserve to be happy, and your kids deserve to be happy too.. keep the focus where it should be, on the 3 of you.. make yourself mentally stop taking steps backwards.. and everyday try to move closer to a goal.. you can be happy again, just stay focused on the positives in your life, your babies, and your future.. he's NO LONGER holding you back.. you have alot of great adventures ahead of you, start packing up his emotional baggage and send him on his way for good!..
we're always here to listen.. keep us posted on your progress ((hugs))
I hope that you can begin to see the good things in your life and accept the bad things which have happened. Do not beat yourself up for the way things have happened. You are not the one that wandered. The universe has something better for you. It will take time, focus on being vulnerable with yourself and allowing yourself to go through emotions as they come.
Thank you so much everyone!!
It is as good and as "civil" as it could be. But, I just get so. Tired of being the grownup all the time...
