After a 2 year relationship, living together and engaged, he left and moved back to Houston in Feb. 2014. For the past 2 1/2 years we have been on and off long distance. I have been emotionally attached to this guy for some odd reason and i cant seem to break these chains. I feel recently he has been trying to manipulate me mentally and emotionally. It was a very hard break up and i cried everyday for almost 3 months. It was rather hard for him too. I consider myself to be an emotionally strong person who is not easily influenced but i feel like there is some sort of emotional power over me for him. I have prayed for the past years to be released from this but I always seem to go back to him. At first i thought maybe we are meant to be because I cant get over him and Ive never felt this overwhelming sense of emotion for someone. We stop talking for a few weeks, then either him or I will reach out and try. This on and off has been ongoing. Im emotionally drained and a few days ago we spoke and I had a feeling that he is just manipulating me now. Can someone please give me guidance on how to finally emotionally let go of someone?

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...
It's really tough to move on and go no contact (I'm doing it now with a different ex engagement) but sounds like you must.
No contact isn't about being strong, proofing you are better, or trying to make him miss you. It's for you. It will allow you to heal and grow.
You have to make the decision to move on. It's extremely hard. I'm there with you crying everyday. But it's for the best. If he contacts you in a few weeks, so what ignore it, You have to decide to be done. Get out of his head. Don't worry about him. Focus on you. You deserve better. You deserve not to be manipulated.
Hang in there!
