Animal preferences?

I have noticed that a cat seems to be an animal that women will have more often than men and men will have dogs more often than women.

This isn't set in stone, but I think that if you were to survey preferences you would find that women, in general, would prefer cats and men would, in general, prefer dogs.

I wonder why that is?

Oh heck no! I prefer dogs! They are more loyal. The only true buddy that I have is my German Shep. She's the best.

My stbx and I love dogs. We preferred them over cats.

Our son likes dogs a lot, but he prefers turtles. And he wants fish.

I've always had dogs growing up, but I have my lil Baby...first cat I've ever liked. She's SO cool! (Just like me...but with fur! ;-) I mean, we understand each other, it's very odd. lol)

I have 2 dogs, 4 cats and a snake. They are all unique and interesting and give me comfort and laughter.

Oh my daughter had a turtle (That of course is in MY room!) and every day I keep thinking it's dead...it looks dead! I thought turtles slept in their shells...this one sprawls out all over the rock & doesn't move when I touch it. Maybe it needs a friend.

Couldn't resist THIS topic. I have two horses, 4 dogs (only 2 are mine, the other 2 are ... um foster children), two cats and before I left Texas one beloved chicken!

More folks should own chickens. They lay eggs and they are ALWAYS happy!

Hate cats always have ever since the evil one would run out and bite me when I was minding my own business.

All the men in my life just love cats. Go figure.

I really like puppies though, and rainbows and kittens.

I have three cats, two dogs, (only one lives with me)

I rescue animals and just recently adopted out a 5 1/2 foor Green Iguana (I am writing a book abou the care of Iguana's in captivity. Our vet requested I write this book, cause Iggy Juana was fat & sassy!) I adopted her out to the Children's Science Center in a neighboring town. My enclosure had become to small. I also had a 6' red tail boa (my son took her when he moved out). I have Guinea Pigs, Rats, Mice. I only draw the line at arachnids... give me the creeps!

Right now I have a cat. Once I get into a bigger place, I want a dog and horses.

I have a dog. She likes to eat and go for walks.

I have a cat. She thinks she owns the place, and she likes to sit on the window sill.

They both like to be brushed. Both are good company. Both have different personalities.

I'm so glad I'm not the only animal nut. I have two dogs (RIP Barry) and two cats.

When my eldest was 5, she asked for a dog. I said "when you're 8." Damned if every week for 3 years she didn't mention "I can't wait till I'm 8 & I get a dog!"

The funniest part is, I have 6YO twins who are now expecting the same! I'm going to be drowning in dogs! Maybe I can get my son to want a hamster instead...

And I have 2 cats.
