I hated living with my parents for 4 years after leaving my daughter's father. I thought I would go insane before I finally got my bachelor's and moved out. I took a crapp job just so I could move out and take care of myself and my child, I worked sometimes 2 jobs while living with my parents and went to school full time, like I said, I thought I was going to go nuts before I was able to move out.
Try not to let your dad get to you. Take your laptop and go into the kitchen and hang out with your mom. I'm sure she'd love having you there to sit and drink tea or coffee with.
I told him that it will be dry in a few hours and I will take it down. There is no need to hang it outside.
At that point he got really angry with me and called me a God Damn Son of A Bitch and threw my items up on the shower.
I had finally had enough of his shit. I told him that he was NOT to talk to me that way. I said that he was too controlling and he expected everyone to jump up and do stuff right then when he asked for it and that isn't the way things work. I told him that I am no longer a child and I can figure out things on my own. He needs to stop trying to tell everyone what to do and expect them to just jump up and do it.
Now he is storming around the house like a 2 year old child. Grow the Fuck UP....You are 64 years old, act like it!
Besides, this is a HUGE personality change that has happened over the past six months. He is sitting around (Retired a few years ago but in the last six months he finished most of the work that he wanted to do to the house), sugar is high, and he seems depressed. He won't listen to anyone about those things but he would rather bark orders to everyone and stress everyone else out, including my Mother, who definitely deserves to be treated better.
I had to fuss at him in order for him to buy a Valentines Day gift for my Mom, he wasn't going to get her anything. WTF?
Also, I heard that men talk in physical language, hugging, wrestling, that sort of things. Try giving him a big hug, see what that does, but don't let go of him unless he hugs back, even if he is grumpy :).
To me that is definitely depression talking there. That would explain mood swings and his lack of desire to do activities that he use to find fun.
I have been blunt with him and told him that he is depressed and he needs to talk to the doctor about it and he denies everything.
