Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.

It's normal to feel anxiety right now. Do you have any friends or family that you could call up and chat with? Or someone to video chat with?
It's going to take a little while to get over this, but you will get over it. Keep yourself as busy as you can. Spend some fun time with your son.
And, make sure and practice self care such as eating 3 meals a day, drinking 8 glasses of water each day, exercising each day, getting enough sleep. All of these basic things will help you feel better and help with your anxiety, too.
Journaling helps a lot. It's like keeping a diary. Get out all of your feelings on paper, or on the computer.
You're going to be okay!
So honoring the good you gave into the relationship will help you see that you also are grieving the loss of that. It's also a good chance to remind yourself of all the wonderful things you have to offer as a person.
Many of us go thru physically withdrawals after a broken relationship. Especially one in which their were alot of highs and lows. Those can be very addictive.
So the first thing I would suggest is be very aware of this. We will crave contact, good or bad to help alleviate this anxiety.
I would suggest learning how to meditate. It will help you stay in the present moment, and realize that anxiety is a feeling...but it too shall pass.
You need to start doing things to help boost your dopamine, serotonin levels. Maybe some light exercises, reading a good book, learning a new hobby, whatever makes you feel good.
Over time, you will start to feel better. It takes time, some really good self care, and if you feel like the feelings are so overwhelming and spiraling you into deeper mental health issues, definitely contact a therapist and let them help you work through issues that may be deeper seated than just the break up.
Sending you light and love...the anxiety can be maddening...but I promise it gets better.
I came across some music that brought back my country dancing in my 20's. I thought I had forgotten how to do the dances, but turns out I remembered some of them. I had also forgotten how much joy dancing brings me so I am going to incorporate dancing into my exercise routine. Doing some of these line dances again reminded me of how happy and confident I used to be. It was a very much needed experience, and one I will fight to get back to.
I'm so glad that there are groups like this. It helps me to know that I'm not alone. Because of this virus, and me being a single mom of one, I have been isolated since March. My parents are not a part of my life, and my siblings are always so busy with their lives we barely talk. I have felt completely alone. So thank you again for responding. It means more than you'll know.
That's really cool about the line dancing and what you wrote about how it reminded u of a empowering time in your life! That's a great idea.
When i was going thru my breakup i was around people... but it took me awhile to find the right people to open up too. So i totally understand where you're coming from. Feel free to message me and just let me know how you're doing! Have a great night.
