I learned this a year ago in the hospital and have done it everyday since. It has really helped me get through some rocky times and keep my precious stability. I keep a record of it in my daily journal to remind myself of what I have accomplished.
Find something to celebrate everyday, just one accomplishment. Remember that anything can be an accomplishment. Something as simple as I got out of bed today, or I got dressed. Up to something monumental like, I faced a fear and beat it.
Today I am celebrating the fact that it has been exactly one year since I was last released from the hospital, and I have not been back.
What are you celebrating today?

Life has been really hard this past year. I'm really feeling down and alone. I can't talk to my family about my depression and anxiety their not very understanding about it. It's really hitting me since my mother passed a few months ago, plus stress from having to eventually move. Also having my niece coming around who suffers bipolar and refuses to take medication for it. Its been...

When i was in the ER February 16th 2025, i was being admitted to ICU where i was for 3 weeks, then had to relearn to walk for 3 weeks in another hospital rehab floor, the nurse told me something that made me feel for over 18 months now that i was finally *safe*. She told me that the guy who raped and beat me 21 years ago now almost 20 years at that time, was in prison as of a month before that...

Gonna take my son to school and hopefully have a silly convo or listen to a good song together.....
That is all I'm able to muster up today unfortunately, it is something to celebrate...;)
great post! thanks. :)
Today I going to be walking a ways to the store and taking Rascal out for a hike... Im celebrating being able to push myself through the 'lazy' times...x
I will also promise to play flute and do stretches, weights, and read this interesting books a man in my church wrote on being a missionary doctor.
All in the future, I know. I do keep track on a monthly calendar of what I accomplish, and like the OP, it makes a tremendous difference to my life. I am much more stable, doing the things that need to be done, without getting overwhelmed by them.
Great post!
It makes us aware that even one small task should be considered an accomplishment, and to remind ourselves of just that!
I think you should repost every day to help us do just that!!!!!
Me, I will ( haven't done it yet) take a shower and pick up my boys for my 3 hour visitation today. I haven't seen them in a week..... The week is always the hardest time of my existence, but I get through it....unbelievably.
Congrats on your full year!
You too Mojo!
I love hearing of what others accomplish, especially the small things. It means "we fight" and realize that those small things to others are huge things for us. I admire those who can walk through a depression and still shower or those in mania who recognize they need to reach out.
With the weather changing here and so nice, I have been working outside alot. I am getting back in seasonal shape. The great accomplishment of that for me is I am getting out from in front of my computer where I spend hours a day working on bookkeeping. I also made some lentil soup/stew yesterday, yay me!!!!!
