Sounds like a threat to me. If he said originally that he'd never leave you no matter what you weighed I'd put more bearing on that. Perhaps he's concerned for your overall well being? I would ask him what changed his mind.

Wow- he said that? wth? I'd call your therapist and talk about it before I'd call your pdoc- unless you have a great pdoc who'll spend some time with you.

That's a pretty harsh ultimatum. I can't imagine how you are feeling. It makes you feel even worse about yourself. How can he assign an arbitrary number to how he feels about you?? Really sorry to hear that. HUGS!!

I'm sorry he is being so insensitive to your feelings. Does he not get it that by saying this it is only going to bring you down. I am truly sorry. I agree calling your tdoc would be a good idea.

Yeah, he does sound concerned. *grin* We all understand about having good intentions but not explaining them the right way :)

I agree that it was harsh and uncalled for, but the bottom line has to be what his intentions were behind the statement. Better the wounds of a friend than the kisses of an enemy.I still say he loves you, but is afraid of losing you so he made a threat. Just my hunch.

Sometimes guy dont get that sometimes what they say can hurt our feelings. Have you called him on it? Try and talk with him about the way you feel about it. It can be really damagaging to your self essteem and he needs to know how it effects you. That was very wrong of him and he needs to know it

Well I talked to him about it and he said everyone fights and that he just wants me to live as long as he does.....which with my mitral valve prolapse makes it impossible for me to live as long as he does....I know he loves me--because he wouldn't fight and argue about my weight as an issue now if he didn't. He'd probably would have left already. He knows that I am crazy and he still stuck by my side. Very few people get a hubby who cares about them as much as mine cares about me....I just felt sad. I told him his comment made me sad but he really diidn't appologize for what he said.....he kinda just tried to get me to blow it off.
