Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
But viejo has been a good friend for years now and to think he has to leave here because someone said practically every wrong thing you could say to a beeper, is absurd. I'm sure he will think twice before asking for support again...is THAT what we want?
I also am totally clueless as to why everyone agreed a week ago and now they don't. WTF? I can only assume it's because you can't read the original post and don't particularly believe my version. That's fine. But it happened and it was bad.
I'm fine with agreeing to disagree, but I stand firm on this site being for people with bipolar disorder. If there was no friends and family group, it would be a different story.
It would be the same as someone going into a cancer group and bitching about their spouse who has cancer cuz they feel sick all of the time. It's just totally inappropriate.
Thx for listening (or reading). I just feel sooo bad for viejo and no one seems to take that into consideration.
I am pissed at the fact of people who refuse to welcome these family/friends of bipolar sufferers. They are coming on here seeking answers to help them better understand whats going on with there loved one. If my boyfriend came on here seeking support and I found out someone shunned him from getting answers I would be extremely angry with that person. If I were a family member/friend then I would want to go right to the source for answers. Get what i'm saying?
If you not like a post or find it triggering dont read it!
Thx, Ele...knew you all were out there, just afraid to post.
Plz, rest assured, I am not upset with anyone at all for differing opinions....that happens, we are all human. Just trying to stand up for something I believe in.
Peace!
I'm going to have to respectufully disagree Bobbie,
It's horrible to watch a parent suffer so when they are going through a terminal disease, but I will tell you, the caregiver is often the one who suffers more. I think it is totally appropriate for some of these sufferers to understand how hard it is on their loved ones after all who have to take care of them and watch them die. I don't know who has it worse, for, dieing certainly isn't easy, but it's hard to watch.
Not the best analogy to use, imo.
the problem people have is others coming here and dishing out advice when they have no personal experience of suffering this illness.
that ishow the problems arise. i also think f and f can be negative

I don't want anyone leaving. This is awful. Like I said before, I have found tons of support here. Initially, I didn't join the group, but I am bp. I didn't know how the people on the miscarriage board would react, and that was my initial reason for coming on DS. I couldn't find a support group in my area.
Anyway, can't we just get along? Please, let's go back to being supportive.
his beak can hold more than his belly can ,

Come on , you know its probably the most sensible reply in this thread LOL
