viejo, I can see where you are coming from too. Here's the thing though. I was bp and I was afraid to join this board. I think I posted while a member of DS, but before I joined the board. Is it OK for individuals who feel that way to post? If so, it's kind of hard to tell if someone is bp.

I think I'm now a contributing member of the board, and I'd be really upset had I not joined.

I also think that people should not come here to criticize. We're all looking for support.

RITKat I agree with you 100% that we should not criticize each other. I find it ironic that beepers are criticizing BipolarPrincess ... it's like saying "get over it" to her. We all know we can't "get over it". If something triggers, it triggers. Period.

CielLuneEtoiles post about her husband triggered me. So I spent 4 days with dysphoric symptoms. I got kicked out of the local Circle K and Papa Johns because of it. Normies have a choice what they do with their life. Where they can go, what they can feel, who they can be around. You can argue I had a choice not to read her post, but how the bloody hell was I supposed to know what was in it that would trigger me before I read it? Then I am left with no choices. I have to continue with my daily business ... going places, buying things, etc. and I wind up acting like an ass because of the dysphoria and getting asked to leave places.

I really think that the guidlines for this group need to be changed, and I think it needs to be done sooner rather than later. It's not bigoted. I'm mixed race, so don't step to me on that score. It's not about being isolationist either. It's about having a place to come to where we can bare our souls to one another without someone who has no frikkin clue what we are going through stepping in and making it worse.

I'm about exhausted with this bullcrap. If some of us want normies on this forum, I suppose I will have to live with being triggered and having NO SAFE PLACE TO GO TO WHEN I NEED ONE.

I agree with Choc and Regina. If the only way BP's can be "safe", maybe we should set up "Bipolar Colonies", similiar to the leper colonies in 2nd and 3rd world countries. That way, BPs can be safe, isolated with their own kind, apparently the only kind that understand them. Great idea, I think, oh, except that isolation breeds fear, misunderstanding and predudice.

And for those who care, I am diagnosed Bi-Polar. Does anyone care to see my credentials?

I think there is a lot of confusion on the boards because now we have people posting that haven't even joined the group. It is a new DS thing that you can post without joining. It is more difficult to tell whether someone has bipolar or is just posting. I wish DS would go back and make you join a group in order to post.

Choc....I tried to explain what happened in reply #28. I forget the title of the original post. But it did happen that way.

I know one person is NOT everyone, but if the board gets this disrupted over it everytime it happens then it takes away from the support part of the board.

I dont have bp, even tho I thought i did for awhile. Everyone here was so nice to me during my depressive times. I was told I dont have to leave, and I hope I dont make other uncomfortable by being here.

I think it's a case of agreeing to disagree. Noone can stop 'normies' from coming here nor can we ask to see people's credentials. I don't think I could cope with a total bp colony I mean afterall we're all so unpredictable with our moods we can't always guarantee rational answers
