Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

My 4 year old has a speech sound disorder and he has 2 lazy eyes. He also has a stutter.
This weekend he wrote a legit 3 verse song about his baby brother that he calls Baby You're So Cute. The verse and chorus have 2 separate melodies. He sang it without ANY stutter. He sings it over again so it's not like he just was making it up as he goes. He doesn't even get that this is unusual - special. I'm not going out and calling my 4 year old any sort of prodigy or anything, but THIS is special. It definitely isn't a perfect song, but I am still in shock.
We were going to put off violin lessons that he wanted because we weren't sure he was ready, but this has us reconsidering that delay.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
I had a severe speech defect which kept me nearly mute until puberty. Singing was the most effective part of my speech therapy. The theory goes that music and speech are processed through different brain centers. I was taught to sing what I needed to say, then taught to regulate my song to sound like speech. The one great thing my father did for me was sing entire conversations with me.
I still stutter if you knock the song out of me. . .
Have you tried singing with him?
