More bad than good days

I have been unemployed for two months and I am becoming more and more depressed. I wake up with this pit of emptiness and despair. It seems to get worse each day. I try to keep myself busy by swimming. I am just becoming more distraught each day about my situation. I wish God would take me. I don't really want to be here anymore. I am feeling very hopeless. I don't mean to sound like "whoa is me". I am just really not well.

Big hug for you sweetie... What you're describing sounds like depression for me TC... You feel as though life is hopeless when in a depression and there's no way out

BUT that's not the truth sweetie it's the illness and there's good treatment to be had....If I were you I'd make an appt to see your pdoc asap...x

I just saw her on Saturday. I am supposed to be starting a new antidepressant tomorrow. I just feel all the way around awful

I understand what you're going through. I was unemployed for a while and got very depressed. Its hard to feel motivated enough to even search for a job sometimes and its very easy to get into a funk. I notice the things that helped me a lot were this site, talking yo my doctor and medication. If you ever need anyone to talk to I'll be happy to try and help. It will get better, I promise!

you're not well right now. It's feeling worse each day because your depression is getting worse. Remember that ADs sometimes take time to work so give yourself a break and know that help is on the way :) I'm glad you can swim - exercise is a natural AD. (((hugs)))

TC - sorry you're struggling!! No one feels good when they're looking for a job, and its even worse when you already have depression. Good for you for swimming, it's a start. You might want to consider talking to your doc and see if tweaking your meds temporarily during this stressful time would be a good idea. You know yourself best.

Sounds like you are doing the right things in spite of being very depressed.... Let's hope the new AD helps....

Any place you could go to get resume writing help, networking, and job leads?

I went through this when I was declared, "disabled". It made me feel useless. I felt my identity crumble. It took a long time but I eventually got used to it.

I hope the new med changes work out great. Best of luck with the employment since it sounds like the current trigger.
