Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
.It's nice they are concerned but they need to look at themselves in the mirror...They are focusing the attention to you because they know they have a problems and don't want to face it themselves....Thats just my opinion.....
I questioned her...I don't even usually take what I'm Rx'd. I have full bottles of pills that I haven't taken...I always refill my Rx's at the same time. If I was such a pill taker, why on Earth would I have whole bottles of xanax, ativan and valium just sitting around?
Fuck, I sound like the sobriety 'mother' from the underworld, apologies! Addiction is such a bitch though. Again, I'm probably way off base..doesn't hurt to be careful though. Peace x
There was a few times that I tried to switch from xanax, tried ativan, tried valium (hence I have 2 full bottles of them), but nothing works for me but xanax.
There was a time that I was able to cut back a little on how much xanax I took, which is why I have extra of that as well. I don't take it unless I need it.
I did take it recreationally over this past weekend though.
I do believe that she is genuinely concerned. I don't know why b/c she knows very well that I hadn't even been taking as much as I was Rx'd to begin with. I even told her that I would not be drinking or doing drugs, so I would take my xanax to 'party' get high with her.
I wasn't angry at first when she called to talk to me about it. I felt her concern, and it scared me that her parents even thought I had a problem.
But what addict/abuser of drugs would have an extra supply of the very drug they are accused of abusing?
So now instead of feeling her concern, I'm angry that she would suggest that especially knowing that I don't regularly indulge for a high, but for treatment.
I don't know if this is making any sense... it's kind of like the pot calling the kettle black (or something like that).
My problem today is, do I want to say something to her about it? We're very open with eachother, she's a saner alright, definitely doesn't understand much at all about BP. It took for me to cry and stew for a while before I got angry and realized that what she was saying didn't seem right.
Do I bother saying something to her? Or do I just take it with a grain of salt and move on?
Idiots.
Im taking you as you say you are and trusting what your saying cuz Iv no reason not too and do not see why someome would lie on here.
Id tell them to shut their mouths and try staying sober for a week. Guaranteed they wouldnt be able to, that means no booze, no weed, no hash etc etc.
The cheek of them getting all high and all mighty with you. And now they're saying come off the pills????
These people obviously have no idea about medication and why people have to take them.
I wouldnt worry about it.
I'm thinking I may send her some articles on BP, so maybe she'll get more of a clue. All she knows is that I have ups and downs. She is my best friend, no matter what, I don't want to start a fight with her, but hey, she's a NYer...it's really easy for fights to start over what is really nothing.
I just want her educated on it, and for her (and her family) to understand that I am not out of line.
