I have suppressed my southern accent for many years. I came to the west coast in 1984. It just did not seem to fit. Somehow it is popping back up....ever so subtly. I love it :)

I also love British an especially South African accents. They melt me.

I am not sure exactly what it means to "jack" a thread, but I may about to do that. Apologies. Accents!!!! I love accents. One of the things I want to do before I die is have sex with a person with an accent. I was born and bred in Chicago and we don't have accents, lol. But to have someone who has a Southern or British or Irish or ANY kind of accent would be a real turn on. Well, I live downtown now, which is VERY diverse, so I will keep my fingers crossed.

Good try, Bronte, but that's not quite jacking. :-) Jacking (or "hi-jacking") is when you totally derail the thread. For example, if you had said, "I am fixing my sink right now by damming it with tampons," that would be a jack. :-)

So now, back to British people. More than just the accent thing, I would follow them anywhere. They are the most trustworthy people on earth. In my opinion.

I love how they use the word "shag".

On a side note, my very square parents had a shaggin wagon! My brother and I found the photos so now we have proof (and blackmail material) haha

We have pics of their Chevy Van with 1970's flowered curtains and a mattress in the back. My mom is sitting on the side of the mattress with her legs swinging out the open door.

My boyfriend is british and they are sooooo sexy. I love the way he says bloody hell! lol... and its not even the slang, its just your everyday words that he says. He has been over here for a while and he tries to cover it up but it still comes out. I completely adore him :)

There are so many different varieties of British accent. Mine is from the north of England and quite common, I was born in Ireland but raised in Liverpool so have a mixed accent. I've also lived in different areas of the UK including Wales haha
